Letter from the Editor Dear Salysians, When I was younger I was a philatelist.

In other words, I was a complete nerd and I collected stamps.

Yes, I grew up in the age before the internet when we actually practiced penmanship and wrote letters to each other. We would then take these hand-written letters to a post office and put them in the mail. It was not the instantaneous email of the modern era!

As I fastidiously affixed my precious stamps onto their respective pages, I would dream about all the different places I could travel to.

I love traveling. First, you have the planning which includes the budgeting and scheduling. Next, you have the preparation where you hope you are not forgetting anything. And even if you do, it will be fine. Then you have the actual physical travel either by plane, train, automobile, ship, etc. Then there is the arrival when you are excited to be in the new location, but also thoroughly exhausted from the physical travel. Last, the best part, is the exploration where you slowly but surely figure out your new surroundings. It is a process.

I ALWAYS love the travel issues!

Join me on this whirlwind trip from Utah to Moscow; from New York to California; from India to Australia; and back again.

As I meticulously did the layout for these pages, I was fascinated that Oregon could resemble The Netherlands; Iowa could resemble Spain; Canada could resemble Ukraine... There is always something familiar to find in the unfamiliar.

I hope you are able to travel soon and enjoy the beauty that can be found in this sometimes very strange world we live in.
