Meet Photographer Elly Johnson How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I started by literally, one day deciding to be a photographer. The more I enjoyed learning everything about it, the more I knew that this was something I should keep doing. I wanted to create a type of escapism and a world that I would want to be part of, so I chose photography as my medium and honestly, I would be no where without my fiancé Jon consistently pushing me to be confident, fearless and helping me every step of my way. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Whimsical, unusual…passionate? What do you enjoy the most about photography? The thing I enjoy most about photography is being able collaborate with designers and other artists to create visually interesting photographs. I love fashion designers and I’ve been fortunate enough to find some really amazing ones such as, Aries Milan. What do you not enjoy about photography? I don’t think I dislike anything about photography. I don’t particularly like packing and cleaning up everything after a long shoot, but its part of the job. Favorite color? All shades of purple. Favorite food/drink? Anything Thai/Moscow Mule . What person, living or dead, would you love to photograph? I can’t choose one. I really tried. There’s so many people I would love to photograph equally and probably people I don’t even know I want to photograph yet. I would love to photograph comedian, Will Ferrell, model/actress Lily Cole and hopefully one day Jon Reshard. What country would you love to shoot in? England and New Zealand would be awesome places to shoot in. What is your idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness is being completely happy internally. Having absolutely nothing, but finding joy in just being. When I reach this, this will be my perfect happiness. Your zodiac sign? Gemini, but I’m on the cusp so I have a bit of Taurus in me, which make me not as crazy as an actual Gemini. I’m kidding of course haha. I am crazy.

If you could have personally witnessed anything, what would you want to have seen? The beginning of time What’s your favorite quote? I actually live by this quote, but I’m not sure who its by: “The most dangerous risk of all- The risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later” Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? I’ve always wanted to see the northern lights in Finland and stay in a glass igloo while drinking hot chocolate and listening to some intense star gazing music. What’s your theme song? I feel as though this changes frequently, but throughout the years I always find myself repeatedly listening to ‘Creep’ by Radiohead. If you had the opportunity to meet any photographer, living or dead, who would it be? Ellen Von Unwerth. She’s such a huge influence on me and I will meet her in the future. Favorite movie? Roman Polanski’s “The Ninth Gate” Favorite actor/actress? Steve Martin Favorite superhero? Why? Dr. Manhattan is my favorite because he can do anything. He can teleport and he sees the past present and future simultaneously! Not sure I would want to be him…but would definitely want him on my side in any fight. What is your favorite word? Least favorite? Favorite word: Magical Least favorite: non-magical What was the last picture you took with your phone? A photo of two creepy porcelain clowns randomly sent to me in the mail without a return address. I later found out it was my sister who sent them to me. It was terrifying. Last show you binge-watched? The Crown Guilty Pleasure? Cupcakes, baking shows, eating cupcakes while watching baking shows… and occasionally still blasting Brittany Spears “Oops.. I did it again”

Meet Fashion Designer Aries Milan How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in Hawaii, but even as a little girl I spent every penny I could save on fashion magazines. After high school, I moved to Europe where I modeled some, but for me it was always about the fashion. I really respond to how beautiful clothes – of any sort – can make you feel beautiful and good about yourself. To me there is a real power in that, and I love helping – women, especially – feel that way. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Loyal, loving, stubborn – pretty much 100% Taurus ☺ What do you enjoy the most about fashion design? The whole creative process – it is an amazing feeling to take something from an idea in your mind’s eye to a sketch on a piece of paper to a sample - that’s never quite right, lol – to that moment when you see someone try it on in a boutique and their face just lights up. That’s what it’s all about. What do you not enjoy about fashion design? Sales. The whole process of making a business out of it can be really draining and trying – but it is a necessary evil. Unfortunately, I can’t give everything I make away for free (though that would be wonderful, wouldn’t it?) Favorite fabric you ever worked with? It changes with each season – that’s a great deal of the fun for me. I love finding beautiful fabrics – they often even inspire the clothes, rather than the other way around. Favorite color? Aquamarine Favorite food/drink? Red wine and stinky cheese Last show you binge watched? “Killing Season” Favorite movie? “Girl on the Bridge” Vanessa Paradis Favorite actor/actress? Eva Green, so beautiful and interesting

What person, living or dead, would you love to create a design for? What would it be? Probably Kate Middleton (though Kate Moss would be a close second – not sure what it is with me and Kates ☺ I think she is just beautiful and classic and a wonderful role model for young women around the world proving you can be pretty and stylish and still respected for who you are and what you do. I would probably put her in one of my floral pantsuits – she seems to mostly wear dresses and I think it would be fun to change that up a little bit ☺

Favorite superhero? Why? Harry Potter – he’s kind of a cheat, I guess, since he’s not really a superhero, per se, but I really love the idea of a “normal” child who hasn’t had it easy finding out he really has all these magical powers and a whole world within and without that he never knew about.

Speak it into existence, where do you see yourself in 5 years? Well, since most of our kids will be in college by then (or out of it – yikes!) my husband and I have talked about wanting to live abroad again – sort of a nomadic existence – just living in different places for months, rather than years, drawing inspiration from the variety and beauty of the world and experiencing everything life has to offer.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? Tom Ford – he’s magic ☺

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Having all my family – especially my children (I have five ☺ all around me, happy, healthy and laughing. Your zodiac sign? Taurus What zodiac sign do you get along with the most? Definitely Taurus – my husband is a Taurus, too, and we are inseparable. What’s your favorite quote? “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean and the drop.” - Rumi Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? Private cruise of the Mediterranean – especially the Greek isles. I just adore Santorini, in particular. Favorite fashion era--20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s? Why? Yes – sorry, I love them all for their uniqueness and how each successive era seems to build on a previous era without taking from it. It feels like a microcosm for life, to me.

What’s your theme song? My husband would probably say “Crazy Bitch” by Buckcherry, lol, but for me it’s “Sun is Shining” by Bob Marley. Always makes me think of home.

What is your favorite time of day/ day of the week/month of the year? Breakfast in bed with strong dark coffee and magazines – remember how amazing I said my husband was ;-) Sunday – family day. We always try to unplug from our busy lives and spend time together doing something fun. Definitely December – I LOVE Christmas Last book you read? “Dying to Me” by Anita Moorjani – really amazing story about a woman who had a near death experience, came back, and miraculously healed herself from stage four cancer. Just a really wonderful view of what happens after we die – that it is beautiful and nothing to be afraid of. Anything else you want the readers to know about you. Well, I spent most of my childhood living in the remote Waipio Valley on the Big Island with no electricity, no running water, bathing in the stream and about five pieces of clothing to my name. But my sister and I roamed the valley in the most magical of ways. There really are no words to describe what that was like.

Meet Hair Artist/Stylist Stacey Stochol How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. When I was a little girl, my favorite thing to do was to play with my dolls’ hair. After some unfulfilling office work, I finally made the decision to attend Arrojo Cosmetology School in NYC. After graduating in 2011, I did a 2 year apprenticeship at a top salon in NYC where I had the opportunity to work with and learn from some amazing talent.

Hair Artist or Hair Stylist? Why? Both actually. For me, being a hair artist involves taking initiative...constantly trying and creating new things, pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. But other times, as a hair stylist, you have to listen to and respect your client’s wants, even if deep down inside you’re dying to do something else!!

Three adjectives to describe yourself. Curious, hard working, open minded.

What do you enjoy the most about being a Hair Artist/ Stylist? I love having the opportunity to be creative and make people happy every day. I

Favorite color? Too many good ones to pick a favorite!

What do you not enjoy? The back and shoulder pain...lol.

Other than yourself, favorite hair artist/stylist? Why? I love Sam McKnight. His work is simply amazing. It draws you in and inspires you in every imaginable level. Favorite food/drink? BBQ & margaritas!! What is your idea of perfect happiness? Finding what you love & working on it every day. Your zodiac sign? Aquarius What zodiac sign do you get along with the most? Pisces

What product is in your kit that you can not live without? Oribe Dry Texture Spray Last book you read? “Quiet” by Susan Cain Guilty Pleasure? Binge watching tv shows Last show you bingewatched? “Black Mirror” on Netflix... best social commentary on our current use of technology & where we’ll be in the not to distant future...it’s haunting, disturbing & absolutely riveting!!!

Meet Make Up Artist Olya K Tizer How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I had struggled for many years to find my own way to express my creativity and figure out a way to channel it. And it wasn’t until I moved to LA that I discovered makeup artistry through the world of editorial photography and subsequently the film industry. After months and months of soul searching it just hit me one day - this is it! This is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I did lots of research, picked the best school, invested all my money in it and took the risk to pursue this dream of mine. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Imaginative. Intuitive. Inspired. Speak it into existence, where do you see yourself in 5 years? I’m just taking one day at a time.

What do you enjoy the most about being a MUA? My favorite thing about being a makeup artist is that I never look at it as work. It’s always been playtime to me. What do you not enjoy about being a MUA? People that don’t brush their teeth. Other than yourself, favorite make up artist? Why? Hung Vanngo. He works very clean and evokes a certain subtle and naturally sexy sensibility in his makeup. Favorite color? Lavender. Favorite food/drink? I can eat Thai green curry and ramen (the good kind) pretty much every single day. What’s your theme song? “Something” by The Beatles.

What person, living or dead, would you love to work with? Norma Jean. What would you create? Marilyn Monroe.

What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever given/ received? A week in The Bahamas was definitely the best birthday gift so far.

Your zodiac sign? I am a Pisces.

Favorite movie? “Some Like It Hot”

Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? Last spring I spent a week in The Bahamas and it was magical.

Favorite actor/actress? Rachel McAdams, duh

What make up trend do you love? Strobing.

Guilty Pleasure? Pizza at 1am.

What make up trend do you wish would die a slow, painful death? Instagram makeup. What product is in your kit that you can not live without? Isopropyl alcohol.

Last book you read? “When You Are Engulfed in Flames” by David Sedaris.

Last show you bingewatched? “Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life.” What is your idea of perfect happiness? Perfect happiness to me is absolute self-acceptance.

Meet Model Savannah Smith How did you get started modeling? Tell us about yourself. Since I was little, I always wanted to model. I have always loved anything that has to do with the arts: drawing, theatre, singing, dancing, but the one thing that I have wanted to do consistently throughout my life was model. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Determined, caring, curious What do you enjoy the most about modeling? I love that you get to be a different person when modeling. When I’m modeling I am able to completely separate from myself from who I really am and become a character for the camera

Speak it into existence. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 5 years, I see myself graduating from college, getting my masters in business administration, doing photo shoots, recording music, and doing musical theatre in my free time. Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? I would love to travel to Bora Bora because of the tropical atmosphere. And I’ve always dreamed of going to Hawaii.

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ‘I’m possible’!”

What do you not enjoy about modeling? Something I don’t enjoy about modeling is the preconceived notion that most models starve themselves and have an unhealthy relationship with their bodies.

Your zodiac sign? I am a Leo, Lion.

Favorite color? Baby Blue

What person, living or dead, do you admire the most? Why? I admire my parents the most because of their resilience and strength.

Favorite food? My mom’s mac and cheese What designer would you love to model/walk for? Why? I would love to model for Chanel, simply because it is classic and it would be an honor. What photographer would you love to shoot with? Why? I’d love to shoot with Brian Berry because his simplistic clean sleek style is appealing. I also love Rankin, his style is so bold and dramatic. And I’d have to include Lindsey Adler. I love her use of space and color.

What do you do when you are not modeling? When I’m not modeling, I’m going to school, writing songs, going to dance class, or hanging out with my friends.

Favorite superhero? Why? My favorite superhero is Batman because he lives a lavish lifestyle but doesn’t get cocky.

What’s your favorite quote? My favorite quote is by Audrey Hepburn “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, ‘I’m possible’!”. What is your favorite body part? My favorite body part is my mind. Favorite movie? My favorite movie is “Perks of Being a Wallflower” Favorite actor/actress? My favorite actor is Johnny Depp and my favorite actress is Audrey Hepburn.

Last book you read? The last book I read was “Oedipus Rex” by Sophocles

What’s your theme song? My theme song is L.O.V.E because its a beautiful song and it was the first song my - Audrey Hepburn mom sang to me and taught me how to sing. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? If I could learn to do anything, it would be to play the harp, because it makes such a pretty sound and you look pretty while doing it! Guilty Pleasure? My guilty pleasure is watching endless makeup and cooking videos on Instagram, Youtube and Netflix. Last show you binge-watched? The last show I binged on was “Chelsea Handler” on Netflix. Your idea of “happiness” and/or your idea of “misery”? My idea of happiness is being surrounded by people that genuinely love me and that I genuinely love.

Meet Model Kat Monet How did you get started modeling? Tell us about yourself. I got scouted a lot straight out of high school by numerous photographers in Austin, TX. Despite not having model height, I was able to build a great network of photographers and designers around town and work among them. The majority of my work here in L.A. is in commercial television and commercial print work. Three adjectives to describe yourself. I would describe myself as chatty, ambitious, and artistic. I love conversation, learning and sharing perspectives, philosophies, and ideas. I’m a huge collaborator. I always want to get in on what all of my friends are doing creatively and involve them in my own projects. What do you enjoy the most about modeling? What I enjoy most about modeling is embodying and embracing a brand’s sentiment or attitude. I love the versatility. You’re often another person in front of the camera versus who you are in your personal life. What do you do when you are not modeling? When I’m not modeling I’m pursuing my other creative passions and indulging in a lot of hikes, yoga, and physical health obsessed.

Speak it into existence, where do you see yourself in 5 years? My five year plan is pretty centered around my music and acting but I always enjoy an occasional shoot and of course collaborating with my friends’ lines and being a part of their passion projects is really fun.

Guilty Pleasure? My guilty pleasure is movie theatre popcorn (without the butter/I’m a salt girl). I am notorious for going to a theatre for popcorn and only the popcorn and then bringing it with me to whatever I’m doing. It’s like a pitstop!

Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? I’ve been traveling a lot recently and I can’t help but wonder if I’ve already experienced my dream vacation. I took trips to Indonesia, Israel, Tulum, and St. Lucia last summer with friends and they were so dreamy that everyone kept joking that I’d been on several honeymoons. Still, I’m entertaining exploring Iceland’s vast nature and Northern Light views. It’s at the top of my list for my next vacation.

Last show you binge-watched? The last show I binge-watched was Ray Donovan. I have never enjoyed shows with so much violence but there is just something about the character drama that keeps you fully invested.

Your zodiac sign? I’m a Pisces but the rest of my chart is all fire so I’m one part too emotional and the rest all sass.

Your idea of “happiness” and/or your idea of “misery” My idea of happiness is being able to do what I love, making enough money doing it, traveling, and being healthy in mind, body, and spirit. My idea of misery is doing things merely to get by, having toxic relationships, and being in enclosed spaces for any reason other than flying across the world.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I can’t even choose one thing I’d like to learn to do because I genuinely want to learn to do everything. There isn’t anything that doesn’t interest me enough to want to learn about it. If only we could learn it all!

Last book you read? The last book I read was “We Wish To Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families”— about the Rwandan Genocide—super light stuff, right?!

Meet Model Bianca Castronovo How did you get started modeling? Tell us about yourself. Well, acting is really where my heart is. I started training about 4 years ago in New York City at the incomparable Rob McCaskill Studios and it changed my life. The classes there taught me so much about myself. It was the first time I really had no choice but to be self aware and was allowed to be vulnerable. Once I started auditioning in New York, modeling work just fell into my lap. I moved to California from New Jersey almost a year ago to pursue a career in Television and Film. I’m almost 22 now, so I try to just stay focused, work hard, and enjoy life. I have a great time modeling when I can and have been especially enjoying lending my hair to the Deva Curl hair care line. You can find me on their curly hair boxes this Holiday Season in Sephora, Ulta, or DevaCurl.com. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Sarcastic. Loving. Passionate. What do you enjoy the most about modeling? Being able to tell a story through an image. What do you not enjoy about modeling? How superficial it can feel sometimes. There is so much more to life than just looking good so when it feels like that’s all that matters at a shoot I get very bored very quickly. Favorite color? Red Favorite food? Dark Chocolate What designer would you love to model/walk for? Why? I would love to wear a Zac Posen gown. His silhouettes are so feminine and classy.

What photographer would you love to shoot with? Why? Terry Richardson. His photos are real and badass. Speak it into existence. Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years I will own my own home and be consistently working in films. Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? A month long tour around Europe would be AMAZING. Your zodiac sign? Capricorn. Favorite superhero? Why? Superman…always so dreamy. What person, living or dead, do you admire the most? Why? My Granny. She is the epitome of a strong capable women. She's spontaneous, funny and so full of life. Granny takes no bullshit from anyone. It’s hard for me to keep up with her and I love that. What's your favorite quote? "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me" -Erma Bombeck What's your theme song? “We’ve Only Just Begun” - The Carpenters What is your favorite body part? My hands. What do you do when you are not modeling? Watch good movies, study my craft, cook, read, and sleep :) Favorite movie? “The Shawshank Redemption”. More currently “Brooklyn”.

Favorite actor/actress? I am forever in love with Marilyn Monroe but I have too many current favorites to choose from. Minnie Driver, Hillary Swank, Viola Davis, Imogen Poots, Saoirse Ronan, Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller… I am so attracted to strong women and I really admire the millennial crowd that is around now. They make me so proud to be a young actor. When I watch their work, I feel like I'm rooting for a close friend. Your idea of "happiness" and/or your idea of "misery"? Happiness is being with people you love and people who love you, laughing, feeling accomplished/ challenged, and always learning new things. Misery to me is settling for a mediocre life because it was easier than pursuing your passion..and eating bad food. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Paint or play the piano. Guilty Pleasure? Watching a cheesy Rom-Com in bed with a good snack. Last show you binge-watched? Gilmore Girls. Last book you read? The Alchemist. How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. Meet Stylist Sodgerel Yadamtsoo Seuret How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I have always been fascinated by fashion since I was a young girl. I was born and raised in Mongolia. I opened my first boutique in 2006 in Mongolia. Back then, all the prêt-à-porter were imported from China and the exact same products were sold everywhere. That’s where I thought it was necessary to introduce European readymade products to Mongolia. I began to sell clothes in a little shopping center and it constantly got bigger with time. Now I represent 5 well-known brand names: Bally, Fabiana Fillipi, Gerard Darel, Myrine, Parajumpers and Ammann in Mongolia and I own a cashmere boutique in Geneva (Sodgerel Cashemire de Mongolie). I have been able to work in the fashion industry for over 10 years now, thanks to my passion for fashion. I’m living my dream, I’m happy. Three adjectives to describe yourself Social, Persistent, Generous What do you enjoy the most about being a fashion stylist? I love how you must be very creative to do this job. What fashion trend do you love? Even though I must refer to the trend to be able to prepare my new collections I still love classic style the most. Meet Make Up Artist Elisabeth Péclard How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself Before starting to do makeup, I was in a theater prep school. Unfortunately, I was not taken, but I wanted to do something in a creative field. I heard about a makeup school in my area. I attended the school hoping it would help me stay and work in the theater world after. But, strange thing, what was to be a second option for me seemed obvious. I fell in love with makeup and I finally had the chance to express myself in a way I never thought before. Three adjectives to describe yourself. determined/sensitive/creative What do you enjoy the most about being a MUA? When I’m working on a shoot with a creative team, I can express my creativity and realize the make-up ideas I have in my head. What do you not enjoy about being a MUA? When someone tells me that I have to be there just to check if the actor doesn’t shine. It makes me crazy! :O) Other than yourself, favorite make up artist? Why? I have to say that I admire a lot of make-up artists. But I can say, like probably many make-up artists, that Pat McGrath is one of my favorites. She is just amazing. Meet Hair Stylist Elisabeth Péclard How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I started with make-up at first. But I like creativity in general and sometimes, on shoots, they would ask me to do a great makeup look but there was no hairdresser. I was frustrated to work so hard with the make-up and then felt like the final result was not finished. This is the reason why I started to study hair. There is such creativity and I love it! In Switzerland the market is very small. The more you are able to do, the better it is for you. What do you enjoy the most about being a Hair Artist/ Stylist?
