SALYSÉ Magazine is a photography magazine, featuring beauty, fashion, and conceptual art editorials. We do not seek to define beauty with one narrow idea, but with myriad viewpoints Vintage is right next to emerging designers, who are right next to established designers. We are looking for creatives who push the envelope, take chances, and disregard the status quo. SALYSÉ Magazine is about sophistication, authenticity, with a touch of eccentricity. ---------FOLLOW https://instagram.com/salysemagazine/ LIKE https://www.facebook.com/salysemagazine SUBSCRIBE http://issuu.com/salysemagazine PURCHASE http://www.magcloud.com ---------Not just a magazine— a movement!

Letter from the Editor Dear Salysians, Eclectic. That is the only way to describe this issue. It’s that weird time of year where it is beautiful and 70 degrees one day and then we have a blizzard the next day. So, the editorials in this issue kind of reflect a little of that indecisiveness that Mother Nature is displaying.

PRIMAVERA Photographer: Kirill Buryak
Model: Glo Taylor | Look Models SF Makeup, Hair & Style, Design: Nomi Nguyen Retoucher: Darya Zagornaya

Meet Model Glo How did you get started modeling? Tell us about yourself. I always knew I wanted to be a model or actress as a young gal. When a friend of mine asked me to be a hair model for her aunt’s hair salon in 2009 I jumped at the opportunity. Took those photos and put them on a website called Model Mayhem which connects models and photographers in the same area. From that point on I did my best to build a port and become a model. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Three adjectives to describe my self would be positive, perseverant, and confident. What do you enjoy the most about modeling? I enjoy the art of expression through modeling. I’m not good with vocalizing emotions, how I feel or things of that such. So I use modeling to help me with that. A photo, in my perspective, is a window into that moment captured. In those “moments” I allow myself to be an emotional mess and capture exactly that. What do you not enjoy about modeling? I don’t enjoy how judgmental and critical people are of models. Most think that it’s as easy as standing and being pretty. They have no idea the amount of strength you must have to be successful in the industry.

Your zodiac sign? Capricorn Favorite superhero? Why? I don’t really care for superheroes but I love Storm from X-Men. What person, living or dead, do you admire the most? Why? I admire my grandmother. She is such a loving and true soul. I never understood how something so beautiful and pure could be a part of this corrupted world. I love my Nana. What’s your favorite quote? “Aint no shade if you’re Glo’ing. Can’t stop my success if I’m Growing” What’s your theme song? My theme song at the moment is “Skinny Girl” By Bei Major. Keeps me motivated lol. What is your favorite body part? My favorite body part is my shoulders/collar bone area. What do you do when you are not modeling? Usually oversized clothing and leggings. Queen of comfort here.

Favorite color? Blue

Favorite movie? My favorite move is The Craft.

Favorite food? Plantains

Favorite actor/actress? Halle Barry

What designer would you love to model/walk for? Why? I would have loved to walk for Alexander McQueen. One of his quotes are “Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment.” I couldn’t agree anymore!

Your idea of “happiness” and/or your idea of “misery” Currently in the process of trying to figure that out for my life.

What photographer would you love to shoot with? Why? I would have loved to work with Ren Hang. Rest in Peace. His work is so unconventional yet beautiful. He pushed the lines and did what he FELT like doing unapologetically. I appreciate him greatly. Speak it into existence, where do you see yourself in 5 years? I see my self signed to major agencies around the world. Starring in major films and campaigns internationally, heck and on a global scale! Taking modeling and acting as far as possible. Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? This is always a hard question for me because I honestly want to visit as much of this world as possible. Different 10 countries, small cities, islands, villages, everything. Exploring and learning new cultures is a great vacation to me anywhere. SALYSÉ APRIL 2017

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? If I could learn to do anything it would be to speak any language that ever existed. Guilty Pleasure? I do what I want. What is guilt? Last show you binge-watched? The L Word Last book you read? Powerful Listening Powerful Influence by Tim Hast Anything else you want the readers to know about you? No. I prefer people to find things out through their own personal experiences with or around me. Website www.GloTaylorr.com

“When you photograph a face. . . you photograph the soul behind it.”
