Out and About Seasonal changes can be fast and fleeting over the next months, we will endeavour to sit and savour some in lovely locations. Check out our diary dates


Diary Dates • The usual meeting at Costa on Thursday starts 10.30 – 11.00 a.m. on the 11th April. • An Outing ‘Earthlings’– we will meet at this vegan café in Bromley Cross, Bolton in the afternoon approx. 1.30 p.m. on the 29th April. • An Outing – Queens Park, Bolton has numerous different settings to inspire us, including walks by the river. Friday 17th May, starting at 10.30 – 11.00 a.m. • We are going back to Brockholes Nature Reserve on June 22nd, meeting at 10.30 – 11.00 a.m.

The Last Meeting – April 4th A member brought a book of short poetry to share this week, a book of poems that are between one and six in length, it included traditional, contemporary and experimental haiku, also senryu, plus others like sedoka, tanka, ryuka, and many more. The topic of lightening came up unplanned, leading to a lengthy discussion regarding storms and the fact that they are much more infrequent these days, then talk about how each of us were delighted differently to the lightening effects when we were younger was considered. A decision to write a poem between 1 and 6 lines on this subject was made, as well as the chance read it out next week. Dates for the diary were considered and can be seen above, and some super submissions sent by Kaspilita Thompson were enjoyed by the small group of us that were there, here is one of the two we have put on our website
