36% of Black mothers, 30% of Hispanic mothers and 33% of mothers with less than $50,000 in annual income could not return to work after having a child. How can design provide a supportive atmosphere for guardians returning to work?

Project Proposal

The Cuckooz Co-Working Center offers a space for parents and guardians of young children to be empowered to re-enter the work force. By providing a catered setting for work and childcare resources, the center will generate the successful businesses of tomorrow.

Located in the heart of Savannah’s historic district Cuckooz Coworking center is uniquely positioned to serve parents both inner city and suburban guardians. With nearby access to public transit, the center is accessible to all users, regardless of income.

Cuckooz Nest supports parents integration into the workforce offering restriction free on demand childcare, and distraction free workplaces.

The Parliament

The Parliament is the co-working center of the Cuckooz project. Users gather to collaborate, like a group of owls. Thus the name The Parliament, which describes a group of owls.

Lighting

Derived from the shapes of an owl sitting in its nest.

The Conversation Nest

The Cuckooz Nest Conference Center is designed to function as both a formal and informal meeting space. Suitable for virutal or in-person meetings, the Conversation Nest serves all user needs.
