Hi! I’m Samantha Halpern and welcome to JettyBlue Photography. I have been a full time, professional photographer for over 15years and my only regret is that it hasn’t been longer (I’m not that old, really). I’m a fully accredited member of the AIPP and my studio is based in the glorious Sutherland Shire of Sydney. JettyBlue is a boutique and dedicated photography studio, specialising in not just Wedding and portrait photography, but the creation of bespoke artwork pieces that transcend mere books, paper and pretty pictures, to become family heirlooms. To shoot your wedding is truly a privilege, as is the opportunity to capture other magical life moments of engagements, births and fun family stories. These are the fleeting moments that I live for. But above all, I adore weddings. I relish in the connection between people. Mothers & daughters, fathers & sons, brides & grooms. To capture that feeling through my lens, transpose it onto paper, then watch that emotion re-ignited as I present it to my clients, is nothing short of magical.

frequently asked questions Are you a full time, professional photographer? Yes I am. I have been shooting weddings professionally for over 15 years and this is how I feed the family. I am not a “weekend warrior” so I am available during business hours weekdays for meetings, shoots, returning emails, phone calls, you name it! I am degree qualified (B. Visual Communications with major studies in Photography & Digital Imaging), I am a fully accredited member of the AIPP and regularly attend photography and business workshops to ensure I am up to date with the latest trends, equipment and techniques. Do you have a studio? Yes I do - I am much more than just a Facebook page! My studio is in beautiful Como in the Sutherland Shire and I see clients by appointment. I am available on select evenings for client meetings. Call me to arrange a booking: 0414 412 069. I don’t do posing! Can you shoot my wedding in a candid style? Well that’s great - I don’t do posing either! I am happiest when I can shoot your day as it unfolds infront of me. I’m not one to “create” scenes because thats how I think your wedding should look. Your wedding looks like your wedding - no one elses. I prefer to “direct” you on the day to fulfill a composition or an idea I may have in my head. What you do with each other once I’ve directed you there is completely up to you. We’ll be having so much fun that the laughs will come naturally. Are you accredited and insured? Yes, I am a proud, fully accredited member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) and have been since 2008. Like all professional photographers worth their salt, I also have public liability insurance. But I don’t need a full day. Do you do shorter packages? Absolutely! Some of the best weddings I’ve shot have been the shortest. Contact the studio with what you need and we’ll craft a special package, just for you. Awww... What’s wrong with a “shoot and burn” style package? Nothing. If that’s what you’d like, I do have a disc only option available. But think about this - if you don’t have any proofs, prints or an album to showcase your beautiful wedding images, what are you going to do when Nan askes to see your photos? Plonk her infront of the computer? What will your Grandchildren look at? It’s not a bad idea to include at least a proof album in your package. Do you edit the photos? Yes. I edit out the doubles, the blinky eyes and shots that generally don’t make the cut. That includes the out of focus ones - I don’t care how good the shot “looks”! All of your images are colour & exposure corrected, then instead of giving you 1000’s of images for you to wade through, only the very best images are presented to you as print-ready and screen ready jpgs. For example, a wedding coverage that includes half of the reception produces approx 600 - 800 finished images. How long does it take to get my photos? I’ll put your highlights on facebook the week after your wedding. Your web gallery will be online within 14days of your wedding. Your finished images will be ready shortly after that. If you order a proof album, that will be ready for collection approx 4 weeks after your wedding day. Do I need a second photographer? Yes and no. I have been shooting long enough not to NEED a 2nd photographer in case I miss something. Not much gets past me! Two photographers can be very intimidating, so if that’s not your scene, rest assured that I have the experience to anticipate those special moments and you won’t be missing anything. However, I do like having a 2nd shooter for larger, longer and weddings where there may be multiple locations with lots of travel in-between. If you book a Premier Art album, a 2nd photographer (who is also fully accredited with the AIPP and a highly experienced shooter in their own right - not a trainee assistant) will be there on the day if I have one available.
