Kristal and Mark first laid eyes on each other in a breezy seaside bar in St Kilda, Melbourne. From that very first night, they both knew they had embarked on a journey together where there was no looking back.
Four years later, under a picturesque blue sky, the glowing-with-happiness pair slipped rings onto one another with promises of a lifetime love, sealing their union on the beach in front of 54 guests. They chose a destination wedding on the beautiful Island of Koh Samui, and the day took place among the tranquil settings of Silavadee Pool Spa Resort. Influenced by the surroundings, the day was exotic and fun. A romantic atmosphere was enhanced by the hundreds of glittering candles which filled the venue and glowed long into the warm night, while Thai wishing lanterns filled the burnished sky.

Kristal was the epitome of a glamorous bride in her silk and lace Jasongrech White dress, and elements of her elegant personal style were threaded in throughout the gentle colour palette of the day. All shades of colour were kept soft and natural, with flowing bridesmaid dresses of silky nudes and touches of pastel champagne. Reflecting the relaxed beach-side setting, champagne satin heels were interchanged with glittering sandals and then bare feet as the day progressed.

Kristal took inspiration from bridal heavyweights Cleo Bride and Real Weddings, as well as searching the internet and Pinterest for images of styling and decor ideas. Bonbonnieres came in the form of sweet smelling aromatherapy candles, and fans adorned with love quotes, handmade by the bride’s mother. Rather than flowers, the decor was littered with candles in various sized glass jars. The wedding cake matched the decor with soft pink and white icing covered chocolate mud and vanilla tiers.

Embellished sandals took the place of heels for the photographs, the flat shoes better suited to the exotic beach terrain while still glamorous enough to match the beauty of the dress.
