PEACOCK LANE

EXPLORE the world of a BOHEMIAN HUNTRESS

Set at one of our favourite venues, Seasonal Concepts, a one of a kind old wares boutique, Samantha and Yellowglen’s Trina Smith joined forces to create a magical launch event for media and VIP guests to experience an exclusive tasting of Peacock Lane while also viewing the latest A/W collection titles “ La Bohéme Chasseresse.” As guests roamed around the room, a sparkling wine in one hand and light canapés in the other, they were able to admire the jewels laid among an

abundance of colourful blooms blended back with unique lost and found items sourced from around the world. In this issue, we give you a peek into the extraordinary styling of the event as well as some tips on how to re-create this style of event yourself. We hope you enjoy! Creatively Yours,

inspiration BOARD

Inspiration for the event came from a desire to combine the opulent experience of a unique Peacock Lane wine tasting with a traditional showing of the latest SAMANTHA WILLS collection. The collaboration of the two encapsulated the aesthetic and decadent soul of the brand, while revealing its evolving new direction. The setting was inspired to bring together the femininity of florals, fashion and sparkling wine, with masculine touches set in the natural woods, crockery and rustic furniture. Similarly, the 2014 A/W collection was inspired by a philosophy of decadence and bohemian luxury. The range showcases metallics and exciting new shades of jade and magenta, bringing together opposing elements, signature to SW style. The event swept its guests into a world rich with natural features and delicate, intricate beauty.

the

PALETTE

The fairytale like set up of Seasonal Concepts dictated the event palette, conveniently tying in with the traditional styling of the brand. Subtle cream and lilac blooms were complimented with vivid, seasonal tones of pink, peach and purple. Supported by an array of greenery and animal figures, the setting emulated an organic, natural aura with woods, rustic furniture and pottery scattered over the floor and lining the highrise shelves. Finishing touches of blush pinks, crystal glassware and stunning azure blues on the Peacock Lane bottles echoed the changing seasons and completed the whimsical setting.

the

MENU

The menu was a selection of specialty cheeses and crisp breads to accompany the exclusive Peacock Lane wine tasting. The ‘Bella Cupcakes’ famously attributed to Yellowglen were also introduced to guests, along with a recipe written in romantic loping cursive and framed in a signature Samantha Wills wooden carving.

the

COCKTAILS

Awaiting the guests was a cocktail station which emulated the recent Peacock Lane launch, with Rose Rouge and A Vintage Affair re-created for the event, but this time served in iced mason jars with striped straws; rustic and refreshing while keeping in line with the fanciful mood of the day.

the

ATMOSPHERE The day was about escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and immersing into a dream-like hideaway among the Sydney’s busy streets, discovering magical, sparkling new treasures and enjoying good company‌ and a glass or two of Peacock Lane. The natural adornments, blooms and rustic glassware complimented by signature cocktails, jewels and fine foods gave guests a first-hand experience of the aesthetic richness and romantic luxury associated with the SW brand, including a gift on departure intended to leave guests reminiscing, on a jewel eclipsed oasis and bubbles on their tongue.

tips • Work with your inspired season. A riot of blooms and dappled green shades are signature to spring, while more subdued, wooden and earthy elements create a warm feel closer to autumn. • Choose a menu to suit the time frame – for a day-long event, cater for guests flowing in and out. There is no point having a sit down meal for a transient guest list or an event that stretches into long hours of the night! • -Make use of authenticity – original, unique features such as animal figurines and wooden ladders, even if they are peeling and faded with age, create a unique style and give a special feel to the event.

JEWELS

Amongst the ripples of laughter, clinking glasses and mingling crowd, the A/W 2014 collection shone as the main attraction of the event. The inspiration for the season emerges through the creativity of its design and stones used. Favoring gold settings, the pieces showcase an array of exotic new shades including magenta, jade, muted paw-paw and varied glowing turquoise. The signature Bohemian Bardot Rings are embedded with the new stones in vibrant teardrops, refreshing an old favourite. “La Bohéme Chasseresse” (“The Bohemian Huntress”) seeks beauty in life through beautiful conversations, beautiful sunsets and special moments. She is a huntress of adventure, experience and happiness, turning everyday moments into memories drenched in simple happiness.
