“…Art is not serious, I assure you…” - Tristan Tzara
4 What is the criteria for calling oneself an artist? If you expect perfection with oil paints or ceramics, you may want to look elsewhere. While I admire the skills in “fine” art, I make art to make fun. When you look at a piece with my signature scrawled at the bottom, I want your face to be smiling, for a chuckle to erupt, for your hands to touch. I am a firm believer that art does not have to serious, stuffed in a frame, kept at a safe distance from the world’s natural wear. Interact, leave your fingerprints, let me know that you observed, that you enjoyed, that I made something worth spending your precious time consuming. I hope that our thoughts get lost in the past, in a song, in your childhood, in what you read last summer…Nostalgia is something that feeds me creatively, and whether it be from a decade ago to last night, it is an inspiration. Let your minds wander to the future, what you aspire to be, who you want to meet…I live in my dreams, and I invite you into that place where I am who I aspire to be with who I want to meet. Art is only one outlet for my stockpiled thoughts and visions, but I do hope you enjoy how I take advantage of that outlet.
