Belmont, Vermont is an unincorporated community in the town of Mount Holly in Rutland County, Vermont. Belmont is a relatively populated unincorporated community, at the 2016 census there were 245 people living there. The Belmont General Store was established in 1843. In business for over 170 years, the General Store has continued to provide services for the area. Also nearby is the Mount Holly area historical museum. In recent years, residents have struggled to save 63 acre lake named Star Lake. Its dam in is need of repair. The first dam on the site powered a sawmill. In early October, Mount Holly Cider Days is held at the Village Green in Belmont. You can experience old fashioned cider pressing and buy crafts and cider from vendors.
