Forest Dale, Vermont is an unincorporated village in the town of Brandon in Rutland County, Vermont. Forest Dale is east of Brandon with a historic downtown area. Forest Dale is also home to the oldest and best preserved iron furnace in Vermont. Built in 1824, the furnace was part of an iron operation in the area. Iron was once a popular industry in the state. The Forest Dale furnace was operated until 1865. The site is currently closed to the public. In the modern era, Forest Dale is home to many of Brandon's top manufacturers.
