Unincorporated communities are regions of land that do not have their own government
Jonesville, Vermont is an unincorporated community in the town of Richmond in Chittenden County, Vermont. Jonesville is located at the junction of the Winooski and Huntington rivers in the Green Mountains and is mostly fertile farmland. The Monitor Barn is a well known landmark. In 1809, a archaeological site with Native American Abenaki artifacts was discovered. In the modern era, the small post office in town has become a stop for adventurous folks doing the Long Trail to pick up mail. Bolton Ski Resort is also very close by and is one of the few places in the area to offer night skiing. Being in the Green Mountains, there is a plethora of good hiking.
