Built in the 17th century, the Palazzo Dandolo Parisi is situated between Rialto and Accademia bridge on the Canal Grande. The two doors on the Canal and the two ‘Piani Nobili’ (Nobles Floors) suggest that the original owners of the palace were two brothers. Dandolo is the name of a Doge’s family. The Doge Enrico Dandolo was born in Venice in 1107 and died in Constantinople in 1205. Palazzo Dandolo belonged to Paolucci’s family in the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, Pietro Parisi bought and restored the palace where he lived with his wife and five children. The son of Francesco Parisi, Pietro Parisi was of Austro-Hungarian heritage with roots in Trieste, where for the last three centuries the family has operated their International Transportation business from. The Piano Nobile of Palazzo Dandolo Parisi now belongs to Matilde Dolcetti de Castro, the second daughter of Francesca Stanilla Parisi, Pietro’s eldest daughter.
