Campaign Ads - Fashion

Fashion Campaigns are used to Promote a Brand, The campaigns can involve photoshoots, tv adverts, promotional items such as bags, labels Ect. creating campaigns is a way to show who are the targeted audience for the brand and what the brand is about. It uses techniques such as using social media so everyone gets to see the campaign, and using techniques to make us talk about recent campaign.


Victoria’s Secret Advert 2013

In Victoria’s Secret’s latest holiday spot, ‘The Gift That Angels Dream Of,’ the brand’s beautiful Angels –Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gracie Carvalho, Behati Prinsloo, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima and Karlie Kloss — strut their stuff in Paris, theyre is no speaking in this ad but it is not needed as the advert speaks for its self, in the background there is a slow sexy song being played which sets the mood off the advert. In this advert the girls are promoting underwear using attractive models with great bodies makes the people watching it more interested. Recently Victoria’s Secret models have been a big thing they are icons to young women like myself, who wouldn’t want to be like a Victoria secret model? So who wouldn’t want to buy their gorgeous lingerie. Tv adverts are a good way to promote a brand as thousands off people watch TV everyday and will have to sit through adverts, many people think adverts are boring but not this one, it defiantly attracts young people and makes them want to be apart off the trend. This advert got a lot off people talking over social media, because off how amazing the models are people started to talk about them, people would post pictures off the models on social media and this is a way that the company gets advertisement for free.


This is a technique off Guerrilla Marketing, Guerrilla Marketing is a way off promoting something in a different way, a way that stands out and will catch peoples attention, its something that everybody will talk about, this idea created by addidas was amazing they thought outside the box and came up with something different that will amaze people. This was placed in a music Festival in Barcelona, using this at a music festival is a good idea to attact the audience off young and fun people. Something like this will make people take photos off it and post on social media which helps the brand promote for free. Because off interesting the outside looks it makes us want to go inside and look. Adidas also used the same idea to promote their new collection in London, the London Pop up shop was open for a few days but inside it included "an interactive floor, a digital 'Stan Yourself' station, and a 3D printing post." The "Stan Yourself" station gave people the opportunity to put their own faces on their shoes, while the 3D printing post let them make custom lace locks. This is will defiantly be remember able and will be talked about forever.

Adidas Pop Up Store

Pop up stores are all the rage now, but Adidas took it a step further with theirs. At the 2011 Primavera music festival in Barcelona, Spain, the company created an installation that looked like a giant Adidas shoe box!


Jennifer Lawrence Dior Campaign

Jennifer Lawrence is a popular well known actress and has also been the face off dior since 2013, using a popular celebrity is a fashion campaign has an advantage because people think she is gorgeous and want to be like her, she is an idol for women so women would want the things she has and is promoting, Jennifer Lawrence has recently been involved with Dior’s Fashion Campaign to promote Handbags, on the campaign for the brand's latest fashion campaign she looked effortlessly gorgeous with messy yet styled hair and minimal make-up, allowing the pieces do all the talking, this makes the audience pay for attention to the bag and not herself as she isn’t to involved and doing anything outrages therefor our attention is on the bags and not all on her. She is dressed casual my suggestion for this is to show us how amazing we can look if we have that bag, dress minimal, messy and you can still look amazing and feel amazing if you have one off these dior bags, this campaign was talked about a lot because it is so simple but promotes the brand so well. Shock Tactics & Controversial Advertising

shock advertising or Shockvertising is a type of advertising that "deliberately, rather than inadvertently, startles and offends its audience by violating norms for social values and personal ideals". It is the employment in advertising or public relations of "graphic imagery and blunt slogans to highlight“ a public policy issue, goods, or services. Shock advertising is designed principally to break through the advertising “clutter� to capture attention and create buzz.


American Apparel

American Apparel is a very known brand with shops all over the world, American Apparel is a well known brand that uses campaigns which stand out because off how shocking they are, the models in the campaigns are always half undressed, with rude and shocking poses. A lot off the Adverts have been banned, this is done to shock the audience to get the brand talked about, it may not be talked about in a good way but everyone will know American Apparel and everyone will know the brand with the shocking campaigns, even on the website when looking at the clothing there is a lot off models who are showing there nipples and with see through clothing wearing no underwear. As soon as you type American Apparel into the internet a lot off articles come up about there ads. This is done to create a buzz and to make the brand look less boring and very out going. Comparing it to a more normal brand with normal campaigns such as top shop, American Apparel has had more articles and more talk about them weather it is good or bad. The first Campaign on the Left was banned the photo lacks explicit nudity or allusions to sexual acts, this ad was banned in the UK because the Advertising Standards Authority thought the model's pose was "gratuitous‌ overtly sexual and that they demeaned women. The ASA also banned the right ad in the UK because it was deemed "exploitative" for sexualizing young women


Promotional Packaging

Bags are an amazing way to promote a brand, it is basically free advertisement for the brand, if someone is shopping and buys something from their store they are given a bag to put their bought items inside which means they will be walking around with something saying their brand, it’s a good way to promote because a lot off people use and see plastic or paper bags from shops, some off the bags are really noticeable to, for example ‘Selfridges’ it is bright yellow and can be seen from a distance automatically knowing where the bag and what brand the bag is from, other stores use sale bags such as next, this is another brilliant way to promote because just from somebody walking around with it others can see that next is having a sale which would make people want to go. Also the more bags someone sees with a brand on the more the shop will stick in someone's head, when celebrities are shopping and if they have a branded shopping bag this also encourages people to go to that shop to follow a celebrities footsteps, it is an easy free and very effective way off promoting a brand.


Shop Windows The first display windows in shops were installed in the late 18th century in London, now shop windows are used everywhere, shop windows are used to decorate and entice consumers into the shop. Fashion brands such as Topshop, Primark will use there shop windows as a promotional strategy they will use their recent clothing on manikins to catch peoples eye, making a window interesting and colourful can be very eye-catching. Shop windows will use posters off models wearing their clothing and they will use the best clothing to make people want to buy the items and come in to look at more, this is a very effective way off promoting their brand because it is cheap and can be made to look very unique and sets the theme to their brand. This compared to a bag is more interesting when walking past a display you can get an idea off what the brand sells and what the brands consumer groups are unlike a bag you can only see the brands name however a bag can be seen anywhere which is an advantage.


Social Media

Social Media is the best way to promote a brand, especially for the younger generation, millions off people have social media including facebook, twitter and Instagram, I have chosen to look into Instagram for promotional strategies this is an easy and interesting site to use, you can post pictures and add captions. So many people use Instagram so it is a great way to gain followers and show the world your latest campaigns, photoshoots and clothing. People can re post pictures, screen shot and put them on there own Instagram pages which is a way to gain new followers, some brands will hold competitions for example a boutique I follow posted a picture and you had to repost the same picture and tag their Instagram page into it, they would pick one lucky winner to win a outfit, by doing this more people will re post the image which means more people will see it and the brand will gain more followers, others have help competitions where once their page has gained 1million followers they will announce a winner, Ect. Social media is very effective because more people are joining everyday which means more people can see brands Instagram pages, the more interesting the brands social media account is the more followers they will gain which means more and more people will want to see their latest trends and want to wearing the brands latest clothing.


Price: How much will you be selling the items for? For Example, Topshop is high street so there prices are normally in between ÂŁ10-80.

Place: Where will you be selling your products, for example online, worldwide stores. For example Topshop is a global company with shops all around the world who always sells online.

Product: What will you be selling? For example Topshop sell clothing, shoes and accessories.

Promotion: What will you do to promote your company? Topshop have plastic bags with their logo, they have had celebrity endorsement, they use photoshoots, and use billboards.
