NEXT Cosmetics is a start-up clean makeup brand based in New York City. NEXT Cosmetics was founded by a Korean woman who migrated to the US at nine years old. As she began experimenting with makeup, she found that many products caused skin irritation due to unclean ingredients within the products. Not only were the products harsh, but she also found that makeup brands did not cater to a diverse range of skin tones as she had trouble finding products to match her skin tone. Her struggles with makeup lead to the development of NEXT Cosmetics
NEXT Cosmetics is an inclusive and diverse company that accepts, embraces, and celebrates all walks of life while being vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable. NEXT Cosmetics is inspired by the deep-rooted culture of New York City and the diversity and variety the city holds while also connecting to the owner’s Korean culture by pulling inspiration and aspects from design trends found in Korea. The designed space reflects the company’s overall brand and culture and draw inspiration from the local region while staying committed to being a collaborative and team-based organization.

Celebrity Luxury Residential Design | Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign
The concept of this design is to create a space that connects Ariana Grande to her childhood hometown, within her adulthood luxury getaway. The residence will be located in Boca Raton, Florida, her hometown, where she can combine her childhood memories with her now-adult life to increase her attachment to the place and utilize the idea of new meets old. The design must adhere to her needs as a young adult who enjoys modern architecture; by doing so, the design will incorporate linear lines to keep the space clean and minimalistic.
The design will hold rhythm throughout the home to make the vacation home flow well and maintain Ariana’s relaxing feel on her breaks from work and star life. For Ariana to develop a strong connection to her second home within her hometown, the design will make her feel like this residence is her territory. To incorporate territory within the home, the home will include her likes and hobbies, such as creating music, watching movies, hanging out with family and friends, and so on. The design will make her feel a sense of belonging that she will never want to leave.

The concept of this design is to create a condo for a young couple in their 20s living in Pacific Heights, San Francisco, California, that addresses their needs and wants throughout the design. One user is disabled and requires accessibility throughout the home, to make it accessible to the wheelchair user and his partner who is non-disabled, the design must accommodate and be accessible to each user.
The young couple is originally from Norway and their Scandinavian culture is important to them. The design must also incorporate their Scandinavian heritage by including design trends seen throughout the Scandinavian culture and be continuous throughout the design. Both individuals are currently working from home, one permanently and one temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the design must adhere to their work lives and make their workspace productive for each individual.

DESIGN ON MAIN
Workplace Design | SketchUp, Photoshop
The design concept is to create a coworking office space for the Design on Main building in Downtown Ames. The space will use warm tones throughout the design, such as warm woods, brown leather, warm neutral colors, and accents of plants to create a calm, warm workplace and promote comfort in the workplace. The purpose of the project and design is to practice skills with space planning, finish and material selection, and SketchUp.
Through the practice of experimenting with finishes, furniture, arrangement of spaces, and lighting through SketchUp, as well as Photoshop floor plan rendering, skills were successfully developed in workplace design using SketchUp and Photoshop, which set a foundation for my future Interior Design projects as I built and found my skills in other software.

ILLUMINATION
Interior Intervention | Yarn, Photography
The design concept of the interior intervention is to find a site and intervene and install an art installation onto the site. This design site is a sunroom with large windows on perpendicular walls within the room. The design uses yarn inside the sunroom to string colorful pink, purple, and blue ranges across the outer edges of the sunroom windows in a criss-cross-like sequence to create an art installation within the interior. The yarn arrangement manipulates the light coming into the room from the large windows.
The purpose of the interior intervention is to manipulate the space for art. Photography was then used to capture the twists and turns of the yarn installation and to showcase how the light manipulated the yarn and how the yarn manipulated the light. The piece was also captured at nighttime with a flashlight shining on the installation to showcase the effects of the lack of natural light and presence of artificial light on the piece.
