What is the theme? The 2 theme of my book are ” that it doesn't mean if someone is good at something than expect from him to be good at a very different category.” Which mean if you are not educated at that category don't expect to be good at it.”

I agree with the theme that if I am good at soccer it doesn't mean i will be good at basketball. Furthermore , Amin came from a small town called Kokako; That place was for poor uneducated people who work as diviners, farmers, and herbalists. From this information, it's meant that Amin wasn't educated he was more into sports (more physical thing). Furthermore, he grow up to be a 2 times Olympic champion at boxing which made him an huge celebrity in Uganda. After retiring he chose to became a cook for lieutenants . In 1971, people decided that idi Amin the huge celebrity should be the president of Uganda, which he was honored to become. In 1974, he directly started to kill over 70,000 people, kick the Asian- Ugandan who worked there, and lost 90% of Ugandan money that was lost from him. In 1979, Amin ran away from Uganda to a Muslim country called Saudi Arabia who helped Amin elude to live there and he died there in august 16, 2003 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

What did I learn? I learned the history of the most feared president. Amin was born in 1925. Amin lived in a very Islamic and poor area. When Amin turned a teenager, he became a corporal for the Mau Mau who fought the Kenyan and British colonials for the Ugandan independence. In October 9,1962, Uganda became independent and Amin became a 2 time champion at boxing. In 1962 After retiring, he ran for president and because his popularity he got choice to become the president. ” President Idi Amin, was already a hero in Uganda. The people knew him as a soldier and a famous athlete” (Dougherty 10). Two years later, “ everyone in Uganda government obeyed Idi Amin out of fear” (Dougherty 23). “Amin led his soldiers into village by village along the border and demanded the men surrender their spears and their buffalo hide shields. Amin order to line up before his soldier wielding a machete, he threatened to cut” ( Dougherty 25). Amin was languishing and was a rampage for his country by wasting 90% of Uganda money on the war versus Tanzania. “Uganda started to have big political problem, so Amin blamed it on the Asian-Ugandan and kicked them out of Uganda. Did you know that Amin settled as a refuge in

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.” When Tanzanian troops got words of his location by radar , he fled to the west Nile district, the region of his birth. From there he flew to Libya, where his one time ally, colonel Gadhafi, made it clear that he wasn't wanted. In the end, Amin landed in Saudi Arabia no was given refuge in the city of Jeddah.

Bias The author’s perspective of Amin was that Amin was a very violent, awful, drunk of popularity person for example: “before Amin seized power, the Ugandan army drew many of its soldiers and officers from the acholi and langi people.” (Dougherty 75) and even the chapter is called bloodbath which clearly shows that the author really thinks of Amin as a bad guy.

The text was written as a narrative and was detailed. The book is a narrative because it narrates Amin life from his childhood until he died, and the book is detailed for example:” He was born in a mud hut in the west nile district, a remote region in northern Uganda near the border of Sudan. The year was probably 1925, though no one kept official records. There were no hospitals, doctors, or nurses for miles around.” (Dougherty 16).

What I know I have always thought that being a president isn't hard, but when you think deep and dig more into it by reading biography about bad president that failed to do there job, it isn't actually easy it is actually one of the hardest and bravest thing to do. I think dim thing of killing 300,000 and from that moment Amin himself the most hated person in Uganda. Amin frailed of being a good president and frayed the citizen of Uganda.

What did I want to know? Why did Saudi Arabia help him elude from Uganda? Why did Amin kill 300,000 people? Why did Al-Gaddafi give Amin money know that he use it for worthless thing? What did Gaddafi aide Amin?
