The students of this course will be given an additional training for GDA COURSE- General Duty Assistant or DIABETIC EDUCATOR (NSDC-HSSC-HEALTH CARE SECTOR SKILL COUNCIL certified COURSE).
GENERAL DUTY ASSISTANT The General Duty Assistant or GDA program is designed to provide quality care to patients. Upon completion of the course, the students trained in GDA will be able to assist various Health care Professionals and work in an efficient manner in various settings like Hospitals, Nursing Homes and palliative care centres.
After completing this programme, participants will be able to: • perform clinical skills in providing basic healthcare services • Practice infection control measures • Promote safety, understand usage of protective devices and demonstrate precautions to be taken while usage of Oxygen • ASSIST in maintaining the personal hygiene of patient • Practice methods of bio medical waste management • Demonstrate Basic Life Support, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and other • Actions in the event of medical and facility emergencies • Demonstrate good communication, communicate accurately and appropriately

DIABETIC EDUCATOR There is an increased need in the health care setting for Diabetes Educator to educate, counsel and provide information to the patients regarding Diabetes:- its prevention & management. As health care sector continues to evolve, the demand for routine individualized health assistance to the diabetic and pre diabetic patients is also increasing. Consequently there is a demand for trained diabetes educator in the healthcare sector
OBJECTIVES To ensure standardized quality training provided to the students for the job role of Diabetes Educator. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:a. b. c. d. e. f. g. h.
Counsel the patient on nutrition in Diabetics. Educate and support the patient in insulin administration. Monitor and Educate the patient on complication in Diabetics To practice right methods of Bio Medical Waste Management. Assist and manage First Aid and Medical Emergencies Understand the structure and functioning of the human Body. Understand the mechanism of regulation of blood glucose in human body. Identify various types of wound and assist with Management of Non-healing wounds
