About me Sam Spicer
Fort Collins, CO Colorado State University spicecsu@rams.colostate.edu {314} 914-5486
Hello. My passion for landscape architecture grew from a desire to create spaces that people can experience while also learning about how little things that we as humans do, can so drastically impact our planet.

Personal Statement Since I was a child, my fascination for the outdoors and constant need for creativity drove me to constantly pursue the next project and explore places some people have never gone, and may never go. Throughout my childhood I had the privlege to travel to some incredible places, many of which by train. So when the time came to decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, the decision was nothing short of challenging. Eventually I decided on Landscape Architecture to allow myself to share with others my intense passion for the outdoors and design. That aside, there is a pressing need for sustainable architecture across all fields and as most Landscape Architects already know, that is a huge part of what we do. My desire to share this practice with others through my designs is a necessity to me in doing my part to make the population aware of how important this precious planet we live on is. Iv’e had the incredible privlege of studying under some of the most accomplished professors in our field, and have learned more than I ever thought I would and have nothing but thanks to them for teaching me how to apply my passions and dreams to real life concepts and projects. I have a long way to go, but I am incredibly proud of myself and my peers, and how far we have all come. Thanks is in order for Amy Brobst and her contribution to our program here at CSU and the recognition of need that has now been filled in her honor, and for that I am grateful. -Sam Spicer
