this was my final design. debbie then told me she had filled 360/400 spots on the reserve list and that marketing wasn’t a priority anymore. debbie says she’ll be using my design for the programme and an online document and praised me for being so accommodating and kind. I then found the promise ball’s facebook page to see the design they went for instead:

logo & letterhead
i
I was approached by a friend of my sisters to create a logo for her new business Dreamcatcher arts. We agreed on a fee and I got to work. After a few emails She was really pleased with the outcomes I had produced and paid in full. I also secured work on her business card and flyers at extra expense but she doesn’t need them yet.

DATA CAPTURE
i
I WAS ASKED TO UPDATE THE DATA CAPTURE CURRENTLY BEING USED BY JDRF. It’s a A5 slip that records name, address and number of leaflets wanted etc. There wasn’t too much creativity involved but was happy to help.

album cover for soundcloud
I was scrolling on soundcloud and heard a good remix to signed, sealed and delivered but the album art wasn’t as great. The album cover does have a bearing to how good the song can be and come sometimes dissuade/persaude me to choose that song. So I decided to design my own album cover and send it to the remixer so he could use it for his page. He liked the concept but was unable to use it. He’s kept me as a contact for potentially his next cover.

bruno mars tickets
i
I bought my girlfriend tickets to see Bruno mars in May for christmas and I wanted her to have something to open on christmas day but the tickets will arrive closer to the show. So I decided to make my own tickets, print and cut them out so she had something physical to hold and something to remember the event, time etc.

I created the balloons during the JDRF project but I liked the way they looked and used them for a background image & for instagram. I like the simplicity .

Using the design I created in the last issue I decided to merge two projects together. I Thought the design was perfect to show two different products and works well to advertise my girlfriends dream business.

At the start of november I was given a massive project to do for redwall. I was shown the basic process of adding products on wordpress. As it was a complex process to describe I designed a visual aide with colour coded instructions.

When I started this project my colleague had already started and was half way through the first category (babywear), therefore I only had to duplicate his product, change the name, SKU code and image of the product all of which I found on Nutmeg’s website. Its vital that the product has a bag and Cart (they had been made previously, I just had to duplicate and change accordingly). The bag had to include the image of the product, SKU code which had to end in _B. Similarly the cart’s SKU code had to end in _C. Each product comes with hook size stickers, depending on the category there could be between 9 & 19 stickers which have to be added individually. I had to input the stickers in illustrator, re-size them and create PNG’s suitable for Wordpress. Then rename them on my computer to correspond with the product I was adding them to. Price roundels are the exact same process to Hook Size stickers but only had to be done once per catergory (apart from Schoolwear which featured two sets of price roundels).

This was a long arduous process that had to be done correctly, one product could take 20-60mins (depending on the amount of stickers and how fast the computer was running). There was a total of 72 products split over 7 categories that I had to create. So this took me up to the Christmas holidays to finish.
Once everything had been created I had to go back into the original product, then bundle everything together, but I could only add one product at time. Each product I added had different requirements: BagOptional. Unticked Min. 1 Max. 1 Insert CartOptional. Unticked Min. 1 Max. 1,000,000 Price RoundelsOptional. Ticked Min. 180 Max. 1,800,000 Hook Size StickersOptional. Ticked Min. 40 Max. 4,000,000
