SoccerKids

Ages: 2.5 - 7 years Instructor:SoccerKids Coaches

SoccerKids youth soccer is thrilled to offer soccer for boys and girls in San Anselmo. Join us for noncompetitive, age appropriate play that uses makebelieve and imagination to learn the world's most popular sport. During a SoccerKids class, children get a chance to learn in an environment where having fun, trying your best and good sportsmanship is much more important than winning. The final score of a SoccerKids game is always fun to fun! Class size limited to 16 kids. Parent participation not required except for the 2.5-3.5 age class. Classes begin early January for Winter season and early March for Spring season. San Anselmo Recreation does not take registrations for this class. Please visit SoccerKids online at www.soccerkids.com to register and get more information. Classes fill to capacity quickly, so early registration is recommended. Winter season runs January through February and registration begins Nov. 1st and Spring season runs March through May and registration begins Feb 1st.

Junior Tennis

Ages: 5-11 Instructors: Tennis in Marin San Anselmo Recreation offers Junior Tennis for kids between the ages of 5-11. Tennis in Marin professional coaches in conjunction with the USTA have now been using a system where different colored balls are used at corresponding age levels to allow more of a natural progression toward learning the sport of tennis. These new changes have allowed kids to rally and play real tennis points at an early age. When kids are successful they are having fun, and when they are having fun, they are usually successful. Girl’s Youth Softball

The goal of this league is to ensure that all players have a fun, positive and enriching experience, while learning softball skills and teamwork. The league provides each team with bats, balls, helmets and other required equipment. All girls are encouraged to participate, regardless of skill level or athletic ability.

League Fees:

Farm Club: 6U (K-1 st Graders) $195 Rookies: 8U (2nd -3 rd Graders) $195 Minor League: 10U (4th -5 th Graders) $210 Major League: 12U (6th -7 th Graders) $210 Senior League: 14U (8th -9 th Graders) $210 Skill Assessments - These will be taking place on Sunday, January 23rd at Memorial Park between 9-2. Attendance is required of all Minor, Major, and Senior players. Farm Club and Rookies do not assess. Exact times for each age division will be announced prior to the assessment. Team Formations – Farm Club and Rookies will be placed on teams according to school. Minor, Major and Senior teams are selected using a blind draft based on the results of the skills assessment. Practices and Games - Practices will start the week of February 28th. These will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Times days will vary depending on who the girls coach is. Game days and times will vary also depending on each team. League Volunteering - All families will be required to volunteer in the snack shack. Schedules will be handed out prior to the first game. Coaching or Sponsoring - If you are interested in either coaching and/or sponsoring a team, please call 258-4680 or write gmihan@townofsananselmo.org to express your interest. Specify which age group it is that you are interested in coaching or sponsoring. Equipment and Uniforms – Players must have their own glove and cleats. Teams will be provided with bats, balls, helmets, and other required equipment. Both a jersey and visor will be provided for all the players to keep.

Youth Baseball

Come join our Youth Baseball Leagues! No scores or standings will be kept, and the purpose of the league is instructional and fun! Farm Club will be Tee Ball with Coach Tim on Sundays followed by Rookie Baseball that will be coach pitch.

League Fees:

Farm Club: 4-5 Years Old (Pre-K-K Graders) Rookie: 6-7 Years Old (1st -2 rd Graders) Minors: 8-10 Years Old (3rd -4th Graders) $190 $190 $255

Practices: These will start the week of February 28th. Before games begin there will be one or two practices a week. Practice start times will be at 4 or 5:30. The location will be either Brookside, Wade Thomas, Hidden Valley, or Memorial Field.

Games: These will take place on Sundays at Memorial Field. They will begin mid-March and run until mid-May. The snack shack will be open and fields will be prepped for all games.

Team Formations: Teams will be formed with consideration of school placement and grade. All teams will participate in the Opening Day San Anselmo Baseball Association/San Anselmo Recreation Youth Girls annual softball parade!

Coaching or Sponsoring: If you are interested in either coaching and/or sponsoring a team, please call 258-4680 or write gmihan@townofsananselmo.org to express your interest. Specify which age group it is that you are interested in coaching or sponsoring. SABA (San Anselmo Baseball Association) will be a sponsor for the rookie program as well as offer free clinics!

Equipment and Uniforms: Every player will get a jersey and cap. All players will be expected to have a baseball mitt.

Bambino Baseball

Instructor: Tim Musselman This popular class provides an ideal introduction to the game of baseball for both parent and child. One adult must participate with each child in this noncompetitive, skill building class. Your child will learn to throw, catch, hit and run the bases. Each child should bring a mitt and a parent. Lots of fun guaranteed.

Luis Quezada’s Spring Soccer Academy 2022

Instructor: Luis Quezada The Spring Academy at Brookside School includes training for all skill levels for players from ages 6-13 years old. The program focuses on individual development including speed and agility, skills training, ball manipulation, passing, receiving, shielding and decision making. The Spring Academy utilizes game situations and problem solving to help develop skilled, creative and versatile players who will truly understand and enjoy the game. With our player-centered approach, no two programs are ever the same since each is expertly molded around the skill and personality of its players. USA Soccer Spring Academy will follow all State and County COVID guidelines.

Luis Quezada and an experienced group of professional trainers bring 37 years of coaching experience to our 29th year of academies and camps. The USA Soccer Camp staff knows how to develop skills and make soccer FUN!
