MEET THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Introducing our Key Club Officers!

Page 2

Suyeon Hwang, President (831) 902-8617 suyeonhwang1104@gmail.com “Hello, my name is Suyeon Hwang and I proudly serve you as your club president for the 2020-2021 term! As your president, I ensure the opportunities for you to have the best experience in Key Club. I communicate with local kiwanis and the division, manage events and projects, and work with my officers to improve our club. In my free time, I have fun cooking, playing games, and sometimes doing art! Hearing that, you might think I'm not the most energetic person but really, I love socializing with people, making people laugh and just having a great time! So if you ever see me, please feel free to talk to me! Who knows, we just might become best friends! Key club really pushes me out of my comfort zone and challenges myself to try new things with new people, which is the main reason I love it! Not to mention, small or big, I'm given an opportunity to give back to my community, my home, and world!”

Jovanna Huerta, Vice President (408) 513-7159 jovannachuerta@gmail.com

“My role as VP is to support the President and everyone else in the club. Other than doing service, I love to run, sew, and skate. I have been in Key Club since freshman year so I am so excited to serve no matter the circumstances.” Page 3

“Hi everyone! My name is Moncerat Navarro and I’m this year’s Key Club publicity. Some of my responsibilities as publicity are to create flyers for our weekly service events as well as publicize and promote them. My main hobby to this date is drawing! I also love to dance! Expressing myself through creating things will continue to be my favorite thing in the world! One fun fact about me is that I have danced at Animation Dance Community and got to perform at a Christmas show called Christmas on Main Street.

This club has brought out so many great things in me. It is teaching me so much about how important it is to serve our community as well as responsibility. Every single officer has inspired me and I couldn’t ask for a better team to be working with this school year!”

Kayla Salazar, News Editor (831) 262-9949 salazar.32815@sbhsd.k12.ca.us “As News Editor, my role is to create and submit articles and visuals to the Division’s News Editor, along with creating the club’s newsletter. My hobbies include reading, meditating, running, and sculpting with clay! I love that Key Club makes me feel like I belong! I love this club with all of my heart and I am dedicated to helping others feel like they belong in this club!” Page 4

Morgan Fu, Historian (831) 524-9684 fu.3299@sbhd.k12.ca.us “Hi, I’m Morgan and I’m this terms historian! As historian I’m in charge of all the digital documentation of the club like taking and posting pictures on our social media! I enjoy dancing, music, baking, and I have a strange obsession with oatmeal! My favorite thing about Key Club is of course giving back and serving the community. I love the overall positive environment and getting to meet new people not only in our school but all over!”

Marc Jowell Bagaoisan (831) 673-1752 mjthegamer77@gmail.com

“Hiii everyone!! I’m Marc Bagaoisan and I am very excited to be treasurer for this year’s Key Club. I will do my best to be the best treasurer I can be. As a treasurer, I will be responsible for the club’s money, both it’s collection and disbursement. My hobbies/interests are computers, playing video games, and doing photography. I would describe myself as a determined person who likes to finish the things I started and a caring/trust worthy person. The thing I love most about Key Club is that we give back to the company and make new friends from other schools.” Page 5

Christine Vanessa Baladad, Secretary (831) 673-8766 baladad.30042@sbhsd.k12.ca.us

“I helped Charter the San Benito Key Club in 1990, 30 years ago. I am president of the Hollister Kiwanis Club which sponsors the Key Club. As Advisor, I provide guidance and support to help the club meet school policies and the requirements of the CNH District and Key Club International. I enjoy community service, traveling, video and photography, and my grandchildren. I love that Key Club helps so many people in our own, as well as the world community, and guiding and working with so many great caring student leaders as they grow into responsible citizens.” Page 6

“As your Key Club Secretary, I will keep record, update important information, and get them to you guys. As an officer, I attend meetings and talk to the other officers about top secret plans. I love the arts. I love making art, dancing, spinning my color guard equipment, performing, makeup, basketball, and making people smile. I’m Filipino and 16 years young. My birthday is October 16th and I’m a proud Libra. I’m your Color Guard co captain and Scarlet Regiment band council secretary as well. I occasionally dance at ADC. My favorite food would be french fries because #potatoesareelite I love how nice the energy is in Key Club. With the amount of energy and hours that Key Club puts into giving back to the community, it’s mind boggling how everyone shows up with a smile on their face.“

Mr. Hart, Kiwanis Advisor

Recap of September Events RTC + DCM BBB a Change Something Old Something New Once Upon a Time in Key Club Key Club Meetings Page 7

Something Old Something New 9-18-20 “At this event we repurposed old items into something new! I loved this event! I really like thrifting and repurposing old things I find at garage sales and this event gave me an extra push to work on these little planters. I also reused old aquarium gravel and planted succulents from my backyard. If Key Club has this event again I’d definitely join and encourage all of my friends to come - Sarah Stopper, San Benito, Key Club Member Page 8

Key Club Meetings “The meeting was so fun. Everyone was so friendly, spirited, and kind”

“Lastly I absolutely love how we are trying to save up money for the PTP because I think that’s a really important charity that also builds more awareness on child trauma” -Nathan Rodriguez, San Benito, Meeting Participant

“As a first-year/newbie at Key Club, I genuinely think our general meetings are fantastic! Everything is well-organized. In our meetings, we go over the dates of future events and things. The most fun part of the club is games! One of the games we played was virtual charades; I didn't play in it, but the people playing had so much fun, and we're so competitive. Overall, the general meetings are enjoyable, and it's a lively atmosphere. -MJ Bagaoisan, San Benito, Treasurer
