Cupola Bricks1) Which material use in fire brix (cupola brix ) 2) Generally firebricks IS 6 quality is used. For better service and less erosion firebricks IS 8 should be used. For larger and extended campaign cupolas high alumina( 60-70%) alumina are also used. Should be purchased from good manufacturers who have testing facilities as per IS requirements.

3) Sir I mean to say how is the making process and where is raw material available 4) The fire bricks making process is nearly the same as red construction bricks. In place of ordinary chikni mitti natural fire clay mineral is used. This is well spread over Bihar,Jharkhand, Rajasthan etc. This contains lager amount of AI2O3~35% and over upto 50% as compared to ~30% for ordinary clay. Bricks are made manually or machine. Firing temperature in the kiln is also higher, around 1200 as compared to 900 or so for ordinary bricks Grades of fire bricks are made by selecting appropriate grade of fire clay.
