Ladle lining

Ladle Lining 1) Just got a call from Mr Ashish Tiwari of Unifrax regarding Ceramic Fibre Paper backup linings for ladles and furnace.

2) There factory is in Pune, and Mr Kulkarni is their Paper Application Head.

3) He will give us Technical support during application of the Ceramic Paper at our chosen Foundry and give surface temperature reduction achieved.

4) We need to choose minimum 3 Foundries in Pune / Kolhapur / Rajkot to do these study. We may need to pay for the paper but travel etc will be on their account. The Foundry volunteering for this should share dates of Ladle Lining and Furnace Linings with them.

The temp loss was minimum due to which our rejection of insulator cap from average 5/6% (cold shut) - wall thickness 3.5mm.

8) At that time being very happy I did not collect data to share . Theladle was so good veryually it was sounding like a gen set . the Mg recovery was above 70%. As i developed Pure Mg by rotary ladle so management did not pay attention. The firmname isHindustan Malleables Dhanbad. Kindly refer modern casting where this type ladle is advertised. i assured that if any fdy or FeSiMg suppler takes interest its results shall be wonder full. I hope this ladle is still lying with HMF DHANBAD. 9) if i recollect the name Sgi treatment ladle isD TIGHT LADLE. I HAVE USED 500KG. AT BASE S- .

025 - 8-10% ALLOY CONS WAS AROUND 1.1%.

10) Use of ceramic paper is for heat insulations. For ladle it I'd fine. But for induction furnace it restricts the water cooling effect on furnace lining cooling . This reduces powder layer near coil resulting lesser safety. This is proven & many of us HV stopped using asbestos, mica, ceramic paper for the same reason. In this case safety is more important.

11) : I have a feeling (based on a few experiments) that for laddles upto 500 kg cheapest lining is simply Sodium Silicate +New Sand. 0.75 inch thick or so.

12) It's about putting a layer of ceramic paper between bricks n steel shell. ..

13) what is the surface temperature of the ladle in these case 14) Cost I said. Temp is higher than what is mentioned.
