Batten and ledged door A ledged door formed from a vertical stripe called batten and they are screwed by horizontal stripe called ledged. The batten are 100mm to 150mm wide and 20mm to 30mm thick. The ledged are generally placed top, middle, bottom. This is the simplest form of the door.
Batten ledged and braced door this is similar to ledged door expect the diagonal member called braced and generally it’s width was 100mm to 150mm and 30mm thickness. The braced give rigidity to door. Batten ledged and framed door in this type of door a frame work is provided to make the door stronger and better in appearances. The style are generally 10mm wide and 40mm thickness.
Batten ledged braced and framed door this is just similar to batten ledged and framed door expect the brace are introduced in it. It gives more strength and durability to door. It is more adapted for external use. Framed and panelled door this is most usual verity and it consist of frame work which panels are fitted. The thickness of panel about 20mm. Sash /glazed door in order to admit more light in addiction which coming from windows. the fully glazed or par sully glazed door are used. Usually the ratio of glazed position to panel position is 2:1. These doors are used for hospital, showroom, office, bank, etc.
Sliding door in this type of door shutter slide on the sides of wall with the help of runner. The shutter may be one or more leafs and it can slide one side or both side.
Swing door this door provided with special hinges with double action spring hinges. When we push the door it automatically closed. It is used in office ,bank etc. the door either should be fully glazed or a small hole should be provided at the eye level.
Lowered door in this type of door shutter are provided with lower either fully or half. The lower may 0 be movable or fixed. The lower has 45 inclination. It allow free passage of air and light. Collapsible door it consist of maild steel frame two vertical peace’s of maild steel channels about 50mm to 20mm are joint together in the hollow portion of the channel inside the door can be open or closed by a side push or pull. Revolving door a revolving door consist of a central support to which four radiating shutters. The shutter may be fully glazed ,fully panelled or partially glazed and partially panelled. A revolving door zimunltaniousiy provide entrance one side and exit on the exit either at the same time. It used in hospital ,office ,hotels etc.
Rolling door a rolling steel door consist of a frame ,a drum and a shutter of their steel plate or iron sheet of thickness about 1mm. a horizontal spring are provided in the drum of the top. The diameter of the drum is about 20cm-30cm. rolling steel door are sufficiently strong and as they can be easily rolled up at the top. This door are usually provided for showrooms, shops, go downs, factory, buildings etc.
Flush door a flush door consist of framework of rail and style and it is covered with plywood or hardboard . there are two Varity of flush door a frame flush door and a laminated flus door . the flush door with hollow space are light in weight and cheep.

casement window these are the window the shutter of which open like doors. The construction of a casement window is similar to door construction and it consist of a frame, style, rail, mullion.
Double hung window these window consist of a pair of shutter which can slide within the frame. A pair of metal weight connected by a chain over plies is provide of each shutter.
Pivoted window in this type of window shutter are allowed to swing around pivots. The frame of pivoted window is just similar to casement window. Except that no rabbet are provided. The window may be vertically pivoted or horizontally pivoted. This can be easy to clean and admit more light.
Sliding window these windows are similar to sliding doors and the shutter move or the roller bearing either horizontally or vertically.
Louvered window in this type of window louvers are provided in the case of louvered door they allow free passage of air when closed at the same time they maintain sufficient privacy. Sash / glazed window these are fully glazed casement window. Sash are rabbeted to receive glass panels. Corner window these window are provided at the corner of a room they are placed at the corner to take advantage of breeze or to improve the appearances of building. Gable window the window which are provide in the gable end of a roof they are fixed window. Dormer window the window provided on the sloping roof. The main purpose of providing dormer window is to admit more light and air to interior. Bay window these window are project outside to external wall of a room. They may be square, circular, polygonal. The projection of bay window may start from floor level or sill level . these window admit more light ,in cress opening area, improve the appearance of building. Sky light window these are the window which are provided on the sloping surface of a roof. Sky light are mainly for light. They are usually with fixed glass panel. Ventilators this windows are small in height and they are generally fixed at the top of a door or window. The ventilator maybe moveable also. They are provided with glass panel and steel grill is fixed in ventilators for the purpose of safety.
