President Donald Trump announced early Friday he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. White House chief of staff Mark US judge Meadows said Trump was “feeling mild symptoms” but “energetic” on blocks Friday, hours after the announcement. The announcement came hours after it was reported that Trump adviser Hope Hicks, with whom he had recently Trump’s H-1B visa ban traveled, had been infected.

Biden acknowledged that he knew and understood this was because of Kamala Harris, his Indian-American nominee for vice president, Kapur said. The Indian-origin donors also allegedly pressed his campaign to moderate its positions on Kashmir and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, as also to add an agenda for the Hindu community on its web platform.

The former vice-president was introduced to over 200 attendees at the virtual fundraiser by Vivek Murthy, the former US surgeon general, who is among those the community is pushing for a cabinet position in a possible Biden administration. Murthy recalled how Biden had helped with his rocky confirmation hearing process in the Republican-controlled US Senate. Some Indian Americans who wanted to “do more than just write cheques” also took the opportunity to press the former vice-president on his campaign’s position on Kashmir, CAA and the “lack of equal treatment” of Hindus, who don’t have a dedicated section on the campaign platform’s section titled “Joe’s Vision”.

Former Amazon executive charged with insider trading in US HiIndia Newsdesk San Francisco– The US Securities and Exchange Commission has charged a former finance manager at Amazon and two family members with insider trading in advance of Amazon earnings announcements between January 2016 and July 2018. The family reaped illicit profits of approximately $1.4 million from their unlawful trading in Amazon securities, the SEC said in its complaint on Monday. According to the SEC’s complaint, Laksha Bohra worked as a senior manager in Amazon’s tax department, where she prepared and reviewed calculations used to finalise numbers included in Amazon’s quarterly and annual earnings that were filed with the SEC. Beginning in January 2016 and continuing through July 2018, Laksha Bohra allegedly acquired, and tipped her husband Viky Bohra with highly confidential information about Amazon’s financial performance. The complaint alleges that Viky Bohra and his father, Gotham Bohra, traded on this confidential information in 11 separate accounts maintained by different members of the Bohra family.
