FBI agents have arrested a man who allegedly brought an explosive device to a Pennsylvania airport..
FBI agents have arrested a man who allegedly brought an explosive device to a Pennsylvania airport on Monday. Mark Muffley, 40, is accused of putting the device in his checked bag for a flight to Orlando, Florida. He fled the airport after his name was called over the loud speaker, agents say, and was arrested at home later that evening. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials say they spotted the device during a routine screening.
Officials say Mr Muffley checked in for Allegiant Air Flight 201 at Lehigh Valley International Airport, 65 miles (105km) north of Philadelphia, on Monday morning. About an hour later, TSA screeners discovered the suspicious item and called FBI specialists, including a bomb technician, to
examine the device.
In charging documents, FBI bomb technician Jared Witmier said a 3 inch (7.5cm) device hidden in the lining of the suspect’s rolling suitcase was found to contain fuses and explosive powder. There was a quick fuse, which appeared to be a part of the original manufacture of the compound, and a hobby fuse, which seemed to have been added postmanufacture, according to the criminal complaint. The “powder is suspected to be a mixture of flash powder and the dark granulars that are used in commercial grade fireworks”, the FBI court document says. “The black powder and flash powder are susceptible to ignite from heat and friction and posed a significant risk to the aircraft and passengers.”
US authorities believe it is “very unlikely” that a mysterious illness dubbed “Havana Syndrome” is caused by a hostile foreign power.
Since 2016, US diplomats around the globe have reported feeling symptoms, fuelling suggestions that Russia, China or other countries could be behind it. While the US now discounts that theory, no other explanation has been given. The phenomenon gets its name from Cuba’s capital, where the first case was detected.

A Jack Daniels building project is to be halted after a neighbour argued she was facing a plague of whiskey fungus caused by escaping alcohol vapours.
Christi Long, of Lincoln County, Tennessee, claimed her property was coated in the fungus, which appears as a black crust on surfaces.
It is a growing issue for people in the area, her lawyer told BBC News.
The fungus, which consumes ethanol fumes, grows on surfaces near bakeries and distilleries around the world.
Mrs Long, who runs an events venue next to several Jack Daniels warehouses, including one under construction, says the invading fungus has required her to spend thousands on power washing.
She is suing the local county zoning office, arguing it did not properly approve permits for the warehouses.
Some infuriated locals are now calling for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, which is owned by Louisville-based company Brown-Forman, to install air filters to combat the problem.

In response, Starbucks said its actions were lawful and in line with policies. “We believe the decision and the remedies ordered are inappropriate given the record in this matter and are considering all options to obtain further legal review,” Starbucks told the BBC.

Washington: The US has approved the sale to Taiwan of $619 million in munitions for F-16 fighter jets, the Pentagon announced Wednesday, in a move likely to anger Beijing. The package includes 100 AGM-88B High-Speed AntiRadiation Missiles (HARM), 200 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles(AMRAAM), and launchers and dummy missiles for training, the Pentagon said in a statement. The sale will boost Taiwan’s “capability to provide for the defense of its airspace, regional security, and interoperability with the United States,” it added. The announcement comes amid elevated tensions between the United States and China over Taiwan, as well as the downing last month of a balloon over US airspace that Washington says was a Chinese surveillance device.
Border Patrol dispatchers monitoring the Remote Video Surveillance System on February 20 observed a vessel on the St Clair River cross the international border near a known smuggling route and immediately contacted agents in the area.
The station agents responded to the area and immediately encountered five people in the vicinity of where the vessel was observed heading towards the shoreline, according to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Before driving into battle in their mud-spattered war machine, a T-64 tank, the three-man Ukrainian crew performs a ritual. The commander, Dmytro Hrebenok, recites the Lord’s Prayer. Then, the men walk around the tank, patting its chunky green armour.
“We say, ‘Please, don’t let us down in battle,’” said Sergeant Artyom Knignitsky, the mechanic. “‘Bring us in and bring us out.’”
Their respect for their tank is understandable. Perhaps no weapon symbolises the ferocious violence of war more than the main battle tank. Tanks have loomed over the conflict in Ukraine in recent months — militarily and diplomatically — as both sides prepared for offensives.
Almost 700 girls have been poisoned by toxic gas in Iran since November, in what many believe is a deliberate attempt to force their schools to shut. No girls have died, but dozens have suffered respiratory problems, nausea, dizziness and fatigue.
“It became evident that some people wanted all schools, especially girls’ schools, to be closed down,” the deputy health minister said on Sunday. However, he later said that his remarks had been misunderstood. The prosecutor general announced last
week that he was opening a criminal investigation. However, he said that the available information only indicated “the possibility of criminal and premeditated acts”. Meanwhile, public frustration is continuing to grow.
The first poisoning took place on 30 November, when 18 students from the Nour Technical School in the religious city of Qom were taken to hospital. Since then, more than 10 girls’ schools have been targeted in the surrounding province.

Bobby Jindal voices support for Nikki Haley’s presidential bid, urges fair treatment by both liberals and conservatives.
Former Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has written an opinion piece in Newsweek expressing his support for Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. Jindal, who is also of Indian descent, argues that Haley’s gender and race should not be defining factors in her candidacy, and that she should be treated like any other candidate, judged on her experience, policies, and competence. Jindal also emphasizes Haley’s American identity, writing that she is simply and fully American, despite her Indian roots. He describes her as a champion of the American dream and limited government, and calls on both liberals and conservatives to support and criticize her fairly. Haley is the first Republican to announce her challenge against incumbent President Donald Trump. Jindal’s endorsement could boost her profile among conservative voters, especially those of Indian descent.

SANJ already a popular musician on TikTok and Instagram just released her debut album ‘Nightingale’
Naperville brought up Sanjana Nayak who goes by the name SANJ in music circles is just out with her new album. SANJ trained in Indian classical music for two decades and her music reflects it. She told her Hi India, about her music, “It is silky Indian vocals that tap into my two decades of classical music training, and sultry R&B flows inspired by songs that I grew up listening to. Over the past year, I’ve been posting music mashups of my favorite Bollywood songs on TikTok mixed with a variety of Western artists, while also performing in dozens of live shows and working on original music.”
She also says that music has been a passion for her and adds, “This body of work is definitely a passion project, as I feel it is the culmination of all my training and creative work over the past several years. I believe it pushes the boundaries of traditional fusion music, but also highlights my creative ethos in a way I haven’t tapped into before.” She adds, “The album is an ode to my Desi R&B sound, including samples from Devdas and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, but also Hindi lyricism and Indian sounds that I crafted myself SANJ grew up training in Carnatic style of vocals since she was 4. She says, “I think growing up listening to soundtracks from Veer Zaara, Devdas, and more were my initial inspiration for truly enjoying music as both a listener and a musician. But on the other end, I also was inspired by the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Mary J Blige, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Trey Songz, and Coldplay when I was young as well.
The album is an ode to my Desi R&B sound, including samples from Devdas and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, but also Hindi lyricism and Indian sounds that I crafted myself.
Talking about growing up in Chicago suburbs, SANJ says, “I was born in Jacksonville, FL, then lived in Richmond for 10 years, and finally moved to the suburbs of Chicago when I was in the 5th grade.
I loved growing up in the Chicago suburbs. I was there from the 5th grade up till senior year of high school, but my parents still live there and I visit often. I went to Gregory Middle School and Neuqua Valley High School. I was regularly involved in musical activities in school - I was in Chamber Strings and took part in huge productions like The Variety Show at Neuqua Valley. Some of my other favorite things to do were go see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra live, hang out in Downtown Naperville (Features, BD’s Mongolian Grill and Front Street Cantina were my fav), study with friends at 95th Street Library, walk through Knoch Knolls park, and go to the Last Fling during the summer.
I reference Chicago in my music OFTEN - it has such a nostalgic place in my heart and I always do my best to honor it. In my song Cloudmind, I reference Hubbard Street, as this was a street I used to go out with my friends on a ton during summers between college semesters.
My first and second music projects, “At Dusk” and “Poster Child” were both mostly written and recorded in Chicago, and specifically my bedroom in Naperville. I wrote these projects during Covid, when I came home for months at a time because of strict quarantine measures that were in place in LA (where I had lived at the time). I’ve truly felt my rawest and most in-tune self as a musician when I write at my house in Chicago, because it’s where I connect with the inner child in me that has resided there for so many years.
I reference Chicago in my music OFTEN - it has such a nostalgic place in my heart and I always do my best to honor it. In my song Cloudmind, I reference Hubbard Street, as this was a street I used to go out with my friends on a ton during summers between college semesters. I also reference Chicago in a song from my latest debut album, “Bindaas” - the lyric is “red-eye to Chicago cuz I think I might lose it”. Chicago has always been my safe-haven ever since becoming an adult and moving away - it’s my sanctuary to come back to whenever I feel like I need a reset.
India has been positioning itself as a leading voice of developing countries known as the Global South in recent years. Now, as president of the G20, Delhi could not have a bigger stage on which to deliver. The world’s 19 wealthiest nations plus the European Union account for 85% of global economic output and two-thirds of its population. But as its foreign ministers meet in Delhi, any broader agreements that India hopes to deliver will largely depend on one key factor: the war in Ukraine.
When G20 leaders gathered last autumn in Bali, under Indonesia’s presidency, Russian missiles hit key Ukrainian infrastructure targets as world leaders sat down for dinner. The joint communique clearly showed differences, with India, China and Russia reportedly not agreeing to unequivocal criticism of the invasion.
Not much has changed since then: the war has continued with no sign of peace talks, the world remains as divided, if not more so, and many big economies are still in turmoil.
Given this backdrop, it wasn’t surprising when G20 finance ministers failed to agree on a closing statement after their meeting in Bangalore (Bengaluru) last week. Both Moscow and Beijing declined to accept parts of a closing statement that deplored Russia’s aggression “in the strongest terms”.
It was left to India to release a chair’s summary which noted “different assessments of the situation” in Ukraine within the group. The foreign ministers’ talks this Wednesday and Thursday are likely to face similar hurdles.
“India is taking its G20 presidency very seriously. So it’s going to pull out all the stops to try to make this a successful meeting. There will be a lot of symbolic flourishes. In terms of substance, the Ukraine issue will be looming over everything else,” says Michael Kugelman, deputy director at the Wilson Center
think-tank.
India wants to focus on issues it sees as more urgent for the developing world. It has put climate change, the increasing burden of debt on developing nations, digital transformation, rising inflation and food and energy security on the agenda.
Many economies are still struggling to recover from the pandemic and rising prices due to the war have made things worse. Experts say Delhi will need deft diplomacy to somehow make the group look beyond Ukraine - but agreements on issues seen as “low hanging fruit” are thought to be achievable.
In that sense, Delhi will hope to use this week’s talks to hit the ground running ahead of a leaders’ summit in September.
“India will try to work out a compromise statement that doesn’t fully satisfy anybody, but that everybody can live with,” says Jitendra Nath Misra, a former Indian ambassador and now a professor at OP Jindal Global University. “But it’s not going to be easy, as countries on either side of the war have only hardened their stands in the past few months.”
India’s own position has come in for scrutiny and reproach too. It has refrained from directly criticising Russia, with which it has long-standing ties, while increasing imports of Russian oil. Delhi’s non-aligned approach initially did not please Western powers but an understanding seems to have evolved.
India may not have criticised Russia directly but it has talked about the importance of “the UN Charter, international law, and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states” in its past statements on Ukraine.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit last autumn was viewed as indirect criticism of Russia. “Today’s era is not of war,” Mr Modi told the meeting in Uzbekistan in the presence of President Putin. Mr Kugelman thinks it’s unlikely India will come under pressure to harden its stand against Russia at the G20 talks. But he points to other differences in the group that could derail India’s ambitions.
India’s relations with China have been frosty due to tensions on their disputed border. The “spy balloon” controversy has further strained Beijing-Washington ties and the relationship between the West and Russia is “as bad as ever”, he says.
The atmosphere is going be tense when top diplomats from opposing sides meet in Delhi. So experts say Mr Modi and his foreign minister S Jaishankar will need to use all their personal relations and diplomatic skills if they are to avoid rivalries affecting outcomes at the talks. “Delhi prides itself on its ability to balance rival relationships but given the extent and the scale of the bitterness and geopolitical tensions within this group, it will have to work harder,” Mr Kugelman says. “But India has shown before that it’s capable of navigating a number of different geopolitical rivalries.”
Delhi will also be under pressure to deliver results domestically - it’s invested heavily in promoting a G20 summit taking place in the “mother of democracies” under Mr Modi’s leadership. He will want to show he has been able to make India’s position stronger in the world, especially in the run-up to campaigning for next year’s general elections.
“India is trying all the ways it can muster to have meetings all over the country to make people at home aware of the G20. That’s all very good, but it does not resolve the basic strategic dilemma that India faces right now on how to not let the war disrupt its ambitions,” says Mr Misra.
For Mr Kugelman, India sees itself as a bridge between the developed and the developing worlds, and wants to use its G20 presidency to play the “middle power”. “Now we have a leader who can put them back on the map as a world leader, and they’re trying to connect the G20 to that.”
But he says “the challenge is cut out” for India. “How does it separate the so-called radioactive issues from things where tangible agreements can be found?”

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed to provide the highest Z+ security cover to Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani and his family members throughout India and abroad. The United States has deepened and strengthened its relationship with India, a senior State Department official said Tuesday.
Assistant Secretary of State for Political Military Bureau, Jessica Lewis, also said India is an incredibly important country in the region. “We have deepened and strengthened our relationship with India, the largest democracy in the world, an incredibly important country in the region, and we are continuing to do so,” Lewis told Defense Writers Group. “I think the way we see it is we offer India a choice when it comes to deepening and strengthening their security relationship with us. I feel very good about where that is going. Obviously, they have a long history of course, but I think we are making very good progress on that front,” Lewis said. Responding to a question, Lewis said that a year after the Ukrainian war, countries around the world are looking to diversify their weapons. “We are seeing countries coming to us and saying look, we may need to diversify in ways that they haven’t before, off Russian equipment. Mainly because they are seeing the failure of Russia and Soviet doctrine in the war, but also raising questions about the equipment that Russia is providing and Russia’s ability to keep providing that equipment,” she said.
directions on Monday.
The court said it found that the Security Cover provided to the respondent Mukesh Ambani and his family has been the subject matter of controversy
at different places and in different High Courts. The court issued directions that the highest Z+ security cover be provided to respondent Mukesh Ambani and his
family all across India and travelling abroad and the same is to be ensured by the State of Maharashtra and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The entire expenses and cost of providing the highest level Z+ security cover to respondent Mukesh Ambani within the territory of India or abroad shall be borne by them, the court said.
“Having heard learned counsel for the parties, we are of the considered opinion that if there is a security threat, the security cover provided and that too at own expense of the respondents, cannot be restricted to a particular area or place of stay. Looking into the business activities of respondents nos. 2 to 6 (Mukesh Ambani and his family) within the country as also outside the country, the very purpose of providing security cover would stand frustrated, if the same is restricted to a particular place or area,” the court said.
Senior Counsel Mukul Rohtagi, appearing for the respondent contends that the highest level of Z+ security cover was provided to the respondent, in view of continuous threat perception assessed by Mumbai Police and Ministry of Home Affairs and Central government.
India is likely to face a blistering summer after recording its hottest February since 1901, its weather department has said. Average maximum temperature was 29.5C in February, the highest since India started keeping proper weather records. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast “enhanced probability” of heatwaves between March and May. Prolonged heat could affect wheat production and push up power demand.
“Above normal maximum temperatures are likely over most parts of northeast India, east and central India and some parts of northwest India” from March to May, the IMD said in a statement on Tuesday.
The forecast comes days after the weather department issued and later withdrew its first heatwave alert for the year in parts of western India after conditions improved. Hot summers and heatwaves are common in India, especially in May and June.
But like last year, summer seems set to begin earlier this year - last March was India’s hottest since 1901.
Experts have also said that India is now experiencing more intense, frequent heatwaves that are longer in duration. Last year, India was forced to ban wheat exports after
unseasonably hot weather affected the crop, sending local prices soaring.
In February, the federal government set up a committee to monitor the impact of high temperatures on this year’s harvest. Reuters had cited an unnamed government official as saying at the time that “the current crop condition looks good”.
India is the world’s second biggest wheat producer.
The unusually high temperatures had also triggered a spike in power demand last year, leading to outages in many states. This year too, demand for electricity has already reached nearrecord levels in recent weeks, Bloomberg reported.
Many experts have also been raising concerns about the effect of extreme heat on poor people, who often have to work outside and less access to resources to help them stay cool.
“Heatwaves can have serious health consequences. If temperatures are high even at night, the body doesn’t get a chance to recuperate, increasing the possibility of illnesses and higher medical bills,” Dr Chandni Singh, an environmental scientist, told the BBC last year.
India saw a 55% rise in deaths due to extreme heat between 2000-2004 and 2017-2021, according to a study published last year in the medical journal, The Lancet.
Sakshi Tanwar is known for her quiet and strong, yet fiercely independent roles in television and movies. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise to see the actor pack a punch in the web series Mai: A Mother’s Rage, which streamed on Netflix last year.
“I did it because it was different and challenging,” starts off Tanwar, who consciously chose the role that helped her explore her skill as an actor, beyond the scope of things she has previously done on television. “Mai was something I had never done before. It was totally out of my comfort zone. I have played so many central characters before Mai, but this was like a full-on roller coaster. [There was] action, underworld, scams, corruption, crime, anger, guilt, and everything dark that I had not explored earlier. And who wouldn’t want to play a hero who is thrashing baddies and settling scores with them?”
The actor believes that credit should be given where it’s due. Tanwar says that creator Atul Mongia and director Anshai Lal helped her to develop the layered role of Sheel Chaudhary. “I loved the role, but I wasn’t sure if I was suitable for it or [if I] could [even] do it. After the mock shoot, I was exhausted and apprehensive as I realised that it was going to be a demanding shoot. But they were happy and I was on board,” recollects the actor, adding that finding the balance between the good and bad was the best part of the script. “Sometimes, I would know what to do before the scene would start, but it was a struggle and I would find it somewhere while doing the scene. I can say it has been the toughest project till now.”
Tanwar believes that awards encourage artistes to do better.
“Since childhood we are all conditioned to work in a manner that gets us appreciation. So, when you get an award you do feel happy, but my biggest validation is when people tell me that they liked a particular performance. It feels like I got an invisible certificate for my good work.”
Sakshi Tanwar has been nominated in the Best Actor (Female): Series category for Mai: A Mother’s Rage.
In a recent chat with Indian Express, the ‘A Wednesday’ actor highlighted that in how the commercial films from the South are “imaginative” and “original.” As per his observation, the actor added how despite those films may be “crass in their taste,” their execution is “flawless.”
The actor lauded the filmmakers for their song picturisation from “corny films” starring Jeetendra and Sridevi for their original idea. Naseeruddin Shah added, “It wasn’t just a line of girls dancing not quite together and one central dancer. So, I really think South Indian films work harder and it is no mystery why their films are doing better than most of the Hindi cinema.” Further in the interview, the 72-year-old actor talked about OTT and called it the future of cinema and mentioned he has been predicting the “disappearance of movie halls” for a while now. Shah also predicted that in the coming decade movie theatres will completely vanish. Amid the ongoing debate around Hindi and the cinemas from the South, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently shared his views. The actor mentioned

It is known that a week after the release of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan resumed filming his next, Jawan. With the movie slated to arrive in cinemas on June 2, director Atlee and team are gearing up to wrap up the shoot latest by March-end. Incidentally, the final spell will be completed in Mumbai with a high-octane action sequence. Shah Rukh will film an extensive double-role chase sequence, designed by action choreographers Sunil Rodrigues and Anal Arasu, in real locations of the city. The stunts, we hear, will be different from the ones seen in Pathaan. Besides Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan stars Deepika Padukone in a special role.

Congratulations Team #BROWN.” Helmed by Abhinay Deo of ‘Delhi Belly’ fame, ‘Brown’ is based on Rita Brown, a suicidal alcoholic, and Arjun Sinha, a widower with survivor’s guilt. The protagonists need to deal with an unstoppable serial killer on the loose.
what all factors aid in the success of commercial films from Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada cinema. The actor also lauded filmmakers from the South the originality and imagination that they put into their movies.
Shah is currently gearing up for the release of upcoming Zee5 series Taj: Divided By Blood. Ever since the show’s announcement, viewers are eagerly waiting to watch Shah play the role of Akbar alongside Dharmendra and other wellknown actors.
Last year, Hindi films failed to entertain the masses as much as the commercial films from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam cinema. Movies like RRR, KGF: Chapter and Kantara did extraordinarily well at the box office and received critical acclaim. Talking about the same, Naseeruddin Shah lauded the cinemas from the South for their originality.
Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman has debunked all speculation claiming that her presence on social media is because she is all set to make a return to the silver screen.
Veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman has debunked all speculation claiming that her presence on social media is because she is all set to make a return to the silver screen. She said that she is not planning a comeback, but neither is she closing that door. Zeenat took to Instagram, where she also shared that since her debut at 16, she has experienced the perils of “being misquoted, taken out of context, censored, and gossiped about.”
The Satyam Shivam Sundaram actress wrote: “There’s been some speculation that my presence here is the precursor to my return to the silver screen. I am a notoriously private person, and I suppose this sudden sharing has set tongues wagging.”
“The truth is that I have been in the public eye since I was 16-years-old, and have experienced the perils of being misquoted, taken out of context, censored, and gossiped about. Now as a septuagenarian I am enjoying the opportunity to reflect on my life and career in my own words.”
Assessment of own successes
There’s no one line explanation to what works. Can you specifically point out what’s working with Pathaan?
“They said, oh, he’s the son of a fight master, he won’t make it; oh, he is very average-looking, he won’t last. And yet, Phool aur Kaante worked. What was it that did? The action, the music, the performances, or the storyline? One doesn’t know. But something clicked. Nothing works in isolation; it’s always the package that works.”
On the audiences forming a parasocial relationship with an actor based on factors other than physical appearance?
“It has no explanation. It’s a vibe. Without taking names, I’d say that there are some actors who are talented, good-looking, but when you see them on screen, they just irritate you, you know? It’s an instinctive reaction”
About fatherhood:
“I am still a very hands-on father. Like you saw, my son was constantly calling me. I’m fully aware of what’s happening in their school, which kid they’re fighting with, what they’ve had for breakfast and lunch, and what they’ll be having for dinner. I have to give them the time. Nysa has not yet made up her mind about what she wants to do. She’s still studying. Up till now she’s said she doesn’t want to be an actor. My son is too young to think about a career.”
Ijust do my work the way I feel it. If I want to make a mistake in it but it is something that agrees with my vibe I would go ahead and do that and then deal with it later on. Many of our songs, if you have noticed, have a very Indian feel and all of a sudden we are doing grooves that are very broad.” “That’s the music part but what you say is very important to me. I don’t want to say something for the sake of saying it, it has to actually mean to me what I am trying to express. That’s why I don’t do Bollywood tracks and movies because I’m not speaking the truth in them.” Others try too hard to stay relevant, however, Lucky, whose real name is Maqsood Mahmood Ali, does not need to even try. “It’s Just God’s blessing. I haven’t done any great thing. My songs are simple. They are everybody’s music.” I don’t know what’s the truth but just be true to yourself and you have to live with what you say. It’s not like aaj aapne keh diya and then you don’t follow what you say then you become a hypocrite. So, you live by the work that you do. “I do the music, so I do the music as long as the music is there and when it’s not there, main bhi apna jhola band kar chala jaunga
It’s Just God’s blessing. I haven’t done any great thing. My songs are simple. They are everybody’s music.

HARTFORD, CT- With a vision to ‘educate Americans” about the sport, the Cricket Hall of Fame (CHoF) has launched the American Cricket Education Council (ACEC).
CHoF Executive Director, Michael Chambers said, “Our Hall of Fame members and supporters will offer their time and expertise as key investments to promote and support cricket in the western part of the world.”
CHoF Board Director Jatin Patel in a statement said, “Our credentialing is to combine resources, expertise, and infrastructure to empower scholastic cricket to educators and faculty members at colleges / Universities with enhanced resources and professional development opportunities and strengthen the future of the cricket coached” / educators and institutional instructors.”
Patel added that members of the Apex Pnel work in a variety of settings and carry the vast experience with expertise in the U.S. education and sports system and in the field of cricket.
“CHoF will connect to its vast network
of legends and Cricket Hall of Fame inductees, including professionals in all these settings.” Patel emphasized He also pointed to rapid changes in the sport of cricket that demand instructors frequently update and enhance training skills to keep pace with their expanding role and increased responsibility with regards to legal requirements in the United States to meet sports culture.
The ACEC advocates for this rigorous education and training in various schools and colleges, he said.
Despite the first cricket game in the USA being played more than a century ago in 1845, the game has missed adequate and organic education programs with qualified and knowledgeable people to sustain the growth and development of the game here, the press release said.
The Cricket Hall of Fame is the right group that cares about cricket and forming ACEC is one important step to make a difference in educational institutions with proper course work to start or expand programs at the school and colleges, a press release said.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – One month after discovering ketamine concealed inside candles, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Philadelphia discovered an additional ketamine load concealed inside an ottoman.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Philadelphia intercepted ketamine on February 10, 2023, that was concealed inside an ottoman that was being shipped from Belgium to an address near Washington, D.C. While inspecting international express delivery parcels on February 10, CBP officers examined a box labeled as a storage ottoman because it felt heavier than an ottoman should. Officers probed structural pieces of the ottoman and discovered a white powdery substance that officers identified as ketamine hydrochloride by using a handheld elemental isotope analysis tool. The parcel was shipped from Brussels,
Belgium and was destined to an address near Washington, D.C.
CBP officers kept the ottoman and ketamine intact and turned the parcel over to special agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) who continue to investigate.
The ottoman pieces that concealed the ketamine weighed a combined 7.23 kilograms, or about 16 pounds. Ketamine hydrochloride is a Schedule III non-narcotic compound regulated
under the Controlled Substances Act. According to the DEA, ketamine, commonly known on the street as Special K, is used in both human and veterinary medicine to induce sedation, immobility, and relief from pain. It has recently been used by medical professionals for mental health and substance use disorders. Ketamine is abused for its ability to induce dissociative sensations and hallucinations, and has also been used
to facilitate sexual assault. Typically, ketamine abuse occurs among teens and young adults at nightclubs and private parties. Overdoses can lead to nausea, irregular heart rate, muscle stiffening, unconsciousness, and respiratory failure leading to death.
“Transnational criminal organizations continue to employ a variety of tactics to smuggle illicit narcotics into the United States, but Customs and Border Protection officers are highly skilled at detecting their concealment methods,” said Joseph Martella, Area Port Director for CBP’s Area Port of Philadelphia.
“We want to assure the public that CBP remains committed to keeping our country and our communities safe from the scourge of dangerous drugs.”
CBP officers and agents seized an average of 2,895 pounds of dangerous drugs every day at our nation’s air, land and sea ports of entry. See what else CBP accomplished during “A Typical Day” in 2022.
SKOKIE, IL- An Illinois artist based in Skokie Syed Rehman has been heavily involved in charity work through his very active Instagram page. When the devastating earthquake struck in Turkey and Syria, he began thinking how he can help the people. Given his past charity and fund-raising efforts many people began getting in touch with him on Instagram about if he has launched a campaign. But it was a gentle nudge from his little daughter that set him on his mission.
One day after school, his daughter asked him if he was going to Turkey to help earthquake victims and Rehman took it as a sign from God. He got in touch with Human Concern International (HCI) a Canada based charity organization he works with and he soon flew to Turkey to be on ground and help the victims directly. Once there he saw big buildings collapsed on the ground and cars crushed on ground like paper. He along with the HCI team distributed help on the ground, cooked meals and distributed it to displaced families many of whom were Syrian refugees in Turkey. The situation remains urgent and Rehman is urging everyone to do whatever little they can do.

RENO-NV- The global Hindu community has expressed its outrage at a Swiss-based restaurant chain, “Holy Cow! A Rasmussen poll last week showed her beating President Joe Biden by 4 per cent in a head-to-head contest, with a support of 45 per cent to 41 per cent for him — an improvement from a Public Policy Polling survey the previous week showing her behind by 6 per cent. However, she will first have to get her party’s nomination, which seems a monumental task given the big lead of former President Donald Trump.
In the latest Fox News poll, she was tied for the third place with former Vice President Mike Pence at 7 per cent, while Trump polled 43 per cent and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is yet to announce his run, 28 per cent. Against these odds, as the first to take on Trump with her campaign launch on February 15, Haley began her long trek towards getting the party nomination with campaign stops in New Hampshire starting the next day and in Iowa the next week.
Iowa will be the first state to hold the intra-party election to choose its candidate and New Hampshire the second just under a year from now and a candidate’s showing in those states could determine the future.
The third will be her home state, South Carolina, which brought her national attention as the first woman to become its governor.
While campaigning with voters builds a base, perhaps more important is money in US politics: $6.6 billion was spent in the 2020 presidential election.
And so, Haley begins her high-profile fundraising at a Wall Street event with tickets ranging between $3,300 and $6,600, the maximum allowed by the

The cable station identified the hosts as Gautam Chawla, a vice chair at Barclays; Joseph Konzelmann, a partner at private equity giant TPG, and Evan Baehr, who runs a venture capital firm.
From New Hampshire, Vikram Mansharamani, who had run for the Republican nomination for the Senate giving him insights into state politics,
told IANS: “Haley had a spectacular reception in New Hampshire. Wherever she went, there were overflowing crowds of people trying to spend time with her and to hear her message.
“In today’s highly polarised political environment, her unifying message should resonate.”
With his deep connections across his state, Mansharamani, who is a businessman, author and a former lecturer at Harvard, hosted an event “to help introduce her to a diverse group of New Hampshire voters that included leading activists, government and business leaders, philanthropists, and engaged citizens”.
Haley said at one of her stops in the state that if the party wanted to win, it should “start focusing on new generational leadership and the best way to do that is to put a ‘badass’ woman in the White House”, according to the Concord Monitor.
At another town hall meeting, she was
introduced by retired Army General Don Bolduc, who became the party’s Senate candidate last year and is considered a part of the party’s hard right.
Haley’s “compassion and her empathy and her complete dedication to public service, putting herself last and everybody else first, I think is what we need in this country and that is why I am supporting her”, he told the Monitor. In a campaign stop in Iowa, she gently took on Trump in whose cabinet she had served and who is the candidate to beat, calling him “my friend”.
“I think he was the right President at the right time”, she said, according to the Iowa Capital Dispatch.
“But we, as dire a situation as this is, as much as all the media and everybody wants to talk about the past, we need to leave the status quo in the past,” she added in an apparent reference to Trump’s obsessive belief that he was the real winner of the 2020 election.

San Francisco, March 1 (IANS) Indianorigin Nishad Singh, the former director of engineering at collapsed crypto exchange FTX, has finally pleaded guilty to criminal charges and was currently cooperating with the US prosecutors in the alleged billion-dollar scam at the crypto trading platform run by former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried who is also facing a trial.
Singh pleaded guilty to six conspiracy charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to violate federal campaign finance laws. Bankman-Fried, along with Gary Wang, co-founder of FTX, and Caroline Ellison, the former head of FTX’s sister hedge fund Alameda Research, have all pleaded guilty in the ongoing case.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Singh for his role in a multi-year scheme to defraud equity investors in FTX.
According to the SEC’s complaint, Singh created software code that allowed FTX customer funds to be diverted to Alameda Research, a crypto hedge fund owned by Bankman-Fried and Wang,
According to the complaint, as FTX neared collapse, Singh withdrew approximately $6 million from FTX for personal use and expenditures, including the purchase of a multi-million dollar house and donations to charitable causes
despite false assurances by BankmanFried to investors that FTX was a safe crypto asset trading platform.
The complaint alleged that Singh knew or should have known that such
statements were false and misleading. “We allege that this was fraud, pure and simple: while on the one hand FTX touted its supposed effective risk mitigation measures to investors, on the other Singh and his co-defendants were stealing customer funds using software code Singh helped create,” said Gurbir S. Grewal, Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.
The complaint also alleged that Singh was an active participant in the scheme to deceive FTX’s investors.
Moreover, according to the complaint, as FTX neared collapse, Singh withdrew approximately $6 million from FTX for personal use and expenditures, including the purchase of a multimillion dollar house and donations to charitable causes.
In a parallel action, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also announced charges against Singh. “Today’s guilty plea underscores once again that the crimes at FTX were vast in scope and consequence,” said Damian Williams, US attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged G20 foreign ministers to overcome their divisions and focus on the needs of the developing world.
Last week, G20 finance ministers failed to reach a consensus on a closing statement at their meeting in Bangalore (Bengaluru) city, in the first ministerial meeting in the run up to the summit later this year.
It was left to India to release a chair’s summary which noted “different assessments of the situation” in Ukraine within the group. The foreign ministers’ talks on Thursday are likely to face similar hurdles.
“We are meeting at a time of deep global divisions. We have a responsibility to those not in this room,” he told the ministers in Delhi. India wants to use its G20 presidency to raise issues of developing countries known as the Global South. But divisions within the group over the Ukraine war will test Indian diplomacy.
It was evident from Mr Modi’s speech on Thursday that India wanted to deliver agreements that could help the developing world and fuel its global ambitions.
“After years of progress, we are at risk today of moving back on the sustainable development goals. Many developing countries are struggling with unsustainable debts while trying to ensure food and energy security,” he said.

Lucknow: Days after the sensational daylight killing of a murder witness in Uttar Pradesh, bulldozers showed up at the home of a close relative of gangster Atiq Ahmed, who is accused of plotting the killing.
On Friday, a witness to the 2005 killing of a politician, lawyer Umesh Pal, was killed in a shootout just outside his home in Prayagraj. His security guard was also killed in the shooting by five men.
Umesh Pal had witnessed the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal, who was a bitter rival of Atiq Ahmed. The police allege Atiq Ahmed, who is in a jail in Ahmedabad, sent five or six of his closest associates to kill the witness before he could record his statement before the police.
Atiq Ahmed, along with his son Asad Ahmed and wife and BSP leader Shaista Parveen, were named in the FIR on the killing. One of the accused was killed in an alleged encounter with the police on Monday. This morning, bulldozers arrived to demolish the home in Prayagraj of Zafar Ahmed, another close aide of Atiq Ahmed, who is also missing since the shootout. Reports suggest Atiq Ahmed’s wife and son were also in the bungalow.

decreases appetite and calorie intake,” wrote Lovneet.
Buttermilk:
The first choice of drink while travelling is either a cold drink or a packaged juice, which is not healthy at all. So what is the tastier and healthier alternative? As per Lovneet, it is suggested to make friends with buttermilk. “Move over sugary drinks and opt for buttermilk. Buttermilk makes a great drink while travelling. It is high in protein and calcium, and good for food digestion,” she wrote. Also, you can add spices like cumin to make it even better and tastier. “So, instead of taking in soda or sugary drinks, go for buttermilk,” she added.
Roasted Makhana:
Pop in some roasted makhanas as you enjoy your travel journey. “Roasted makhana make a classic snack for anyone looking for a quick bite on the road. Makhanas
can keep you fuller for longer; thanks to the presence of sufficient amounts of protein. Protein helps prevent you from overeating and cravings,” explained the nutritionist.
Fruits:
Another healthier and fuss-free snack is fruits. Fruits are the perfect companions while on a long journey. They are not only highly nutritious but also easily portable. “During road trips, munching on hydrating, high-fibre foods like fruit may keep your bowel movements regular and help prevent constipation caused by lack of activity,” wrote the expert.
Roasted chickpeas:
Roasted chickpeas also make for a great snacking option. “Chickpeas are highly nutritious, providing protein, fiber, magnesium, folate, and zinc,” explained Loveneet.
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a disease. It is caused by the progressive loss of nerve cells in the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes. As those areas shrink it can lead to changes in a person’s personality, behaviour and language. This is not quite the same as “dementia”, which is a general term that describes the symptoms of a large number of different brain diseases, including Alzheimer’s.
FTD is unusual as it largely affects people in mid-life, between the ages of 45 and 65 - most other forms are found in older ages. There are different types of FTD, but estimates suggest between 50,000 and 60,000 have some form of the disease in the US, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms include personality and behaviour changes and problems with language and mental focus.
Those can include inappropriate social behaviour, lack of judgement and being easily distracted, as well as motor problems such as muscle weakness and tremors. Because FTD affects people’s personalities and behaviours, the disorder can be misdiagnosed as a psychiatric issue, according to the Mayo Clinic. There is no cure or way to slow down the disease, although there are treatments for some of the symptoms. As the disease progresses, patients eventually need full-time care. On average, people live eight to 10 years after diagnosis, but some people live much longer.
How is it diagnosed?
There is no specific test, so a diagnosis is usually made after running tests and eliminating other conditions. If you are noticing subtle changes in behaviour or language, contact a healthcare provider for evaluation.
“One of the most important and fun parts of trips is snacking. But it is highly important to stick to healthy snacks as it will also help you resist the temptation to buy something unhealthy,” wrote Lovneet Batra, a nutritionist
