Biden Administration Takes First Step Trump's legal defeat may turn Towards Writing Key AI Standards inintoColorado political gold HiIndia Newsdesk
Washington: The Biden administration said on Tuesday it was taking the first step toward writing key standards and guidance for the safe deployment of generative artificial intelligence and how to test and safeguard systems. The Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) said it was seeking public input by Feb. 2 for conducting key testing crucial to ensuring the safety of AI systems. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said the effort was prompted by President Joe Biden's October executive order on AI and aimed at developing "industry standards around AI safety, security, and trust that will enable America to continue leading the world in the responsible development and use of this rapidly evolving technology." The agency is developing guidelines for evaluating AI, facilitating development of standards and provide testing environments for evaluating AI systems. The request seeks input from AI

Claudine Gay: Congress probes Harvard president plagiarism claims
HiIndia Newsdesk
After months of debate and thousands of submissions, Minnesota has unveiled a new flag to replace a design many Native Americans considered offensive. The proposed state flag, which features a white eight-pointed star against a dark blue background shaped like the state, was revealed on Tuesday. The special commission that approved it said the design was an ode to Minnesota's motto, Star of the North. It added that the light blue represented the state's waters. The chairman of the redesign commission, however, acknowledged that the flag could be interpreted differently by others.
companies and the public on generative AI risk management and reducing risks of AI-generated misinformation. Generative AI - which can create text, photos and videos in response to openended prompts - in recent months has spurred excitement as well as fears it could make some jobs obsolete, upend elections and potentially overpower humans and catastrophic effects.
Lawmakers want Harvard to provide files from its internal plagiarism inquiry into Claudine Gay HiIndia Newsdesk
A US congressional committee said it is investigating plagiarism allegations against Harvard president Claudine Gay. The Republican-led Comm ittee on Education and the Workforce shared its plans to widen its scrutiny of Dr Gay's handling of antisemitism on Harvard's
campus. Chairwoman Virginia Foxx said the inquiry would see if students and staff are held to the same academic standard. The BBC contacted Harvard's governing body for comment. Ms Foxx, a Republican member of the House of Representatives, said in a letter to the leader of Harvard's board on Wednesday that the prestigious institution could be violating the public's trust. "Our concern is that standards are not being applied consistently, resulting in different rules for different members of the academic community," she said. Harvard is a private institution that receives hundreds of millions of dollars of public funding each year. It has $50bn (£40bn) in assets. The university's governing board said last week that it had checked Dr Gay's academic history and had found "instances of inadequate citation".
Venezuela: Americans freed in swap deal - and fraudster Fat Leonard returned HiIndia Newsdesk
An infamous fugitive billionaire - known as Fat Leonard - has been released as part of a prisoner swap with Venezuela, the White House has confirmed. The fugitive, whose real name is Leonard Glenn Francis, masterminded a $35m fraud against the US Navy. He escaped from US custody in 2022. Ten US citizens held in Venezuela were released as part of the deal. In exchange, the US released Alex Saab, an aide to Venezuela's president. Francis, the most high-profile prisoner involved in the deal, was detained in September 2022 trying to board a flight from Venezuela to Russia while on the run from US authorities.
The Malaysian businessman had escaped house arrest in California two weeks earlier, where he was being held after admitting to his role in a sprawling scam that cost the US tens of millions of dollars and implicated dozens of navy officers. Prosecutors say he used his Singapore-based business - which had contracts to service US naval vessels - to defraud the US Navy, while also plying American officers with cash and gifts as bribes. Court documents filed as part of his plea agreement accused Francis of giving US officials millions of dollars worth of gifts, which included lavish trips, "top-shelf alcohol and wine", Spanish suckling pigs, Cuban cigars and access to prostitution services.
One of the court challenges to Donald Trump's eligibility to run for president in 2024 has finally struck gold. The Colorado Supreme Court's ruling to disqualify the former president from the Republican Party's upcoming primary ballot is yet another unprecedented moment in US politics. It's a decision that further blurs the lines between America's political and judicial systems, setting up a fresh collision between the election campaign and the courts. However, this latest legal setback is unlikely to seriously damage Mr Trump's bid to return to the White House - and he is already using it to his political advantage. The activists who brought the case in Colorado - a liberal watchdog group and collection of anti-Trump Republican and independent voters - may be celebrating their victory. But the response so far by Democratic politicians - the ones who will stand before voters next year and are working to defeat Mr Trump at the ballot box - tells a different story.
Glynn Simmons: Longest-imprisoned US inmate exonerated 48 years on
HiIndia Newsdesk
An Oklahoma judge has exonerated a man who was in prison for almost half a century for a 1974 murder, the longest wrongful sentence to be served in the US. Glynn Simmons, 70, was freed in July when a judge ordered a new trial. But a county district attorney said on Monday there was not enough evidence to warrant one. In an order on Tuesday, Oklahoma County District Judge Amy Palumbo declared Mr Simmons innocent.

"Don't Want To Be In A Situation...": Authorities nearing end of rescues as Justin Trudeau On India-Canada Row more than 130 killed Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday said India's ties with Canada may have undergone "a tonal shift" following the indictment of an Indian national in the US for plotting an assassination attempt on a Khalistani terrorist on American soil. "I think there is a beginning of an understanding that they can't bluster their way through this and there is an openness to collaborating in a way that perhaps they were less open before," Trudeau told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. He said the US indictment appears to have convinced the Indian government to adopt a more sober tone. "There's an understanding that maybe, maybe just churning out attacks against Canada isn't going to make this problem go away." "We don't want to be in a situation of having
safety, and for the rule of law. And that's what we're going to do." The ties between India and Canada came under severe strain following Trudeau's allegations on September 18 of a "potential" involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on June 18 in British Columbia. India had designated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020. Death toll from Hurricane Otis rises to 52 in Mexico
Christmas shoppers ordering cheap gifts from Temu risk buying items made using forced labour, an MP has warned. The Chinese app, popular for its huge range of clothing, toys and gadgets at ultra low prices, was downloaded 19 million times in the UK in 2023. But Alicia Kearns, head of the foreign affairs select committee, told the BBC she'd "long been concerned about the rise of Temu and the risks it poses". Temu said it "strictly prohibits" the use of forced, penal, or child labour. The warning comes after a US government investigation found an
Combating terrorism in Afghanistan 'immediate priority': India
HiIndia Newsdesk
Mexico City,: (IANS) The death toll from the category 5 hurricane Otis has risen to 52 while 32 are still missing in Mexico, sources in the government said. Searches on land and sea continue, Guerrero state Governor Evelyn Salgado was quoted as saying by Mexico News Daily. A total of 31 people were missing at sea, and one person on land, Salgado said. The official update comes a month after families of missing sailors protested alleging that authorities appeared to have stopped looking for their loved ones. The hurricane hit Mexico's southern Pacific coast on October 25, inflicting severe damage to hotels and housing infrastructure of Acapulco and Coyuca de Benitez, Xinhua news agency reported.
"extremely high risk" that products sold on Temu could have been made with forced labour. The Senate Committee reported the only measure Temu took to ensure this did not happen was to insist that suppliers agree to terms and conditions that prohibit the use of forced labour. Temu is backed by Chinese e-commerce giant Pinduoduo and launched in the US in 2022. Since its UK launch earlier in 2023, Temu's has regularly topped app download charts. The app has 9 million monthly users according to figures given to the BBC by data analyst Sensor Tower. The online marketplace with the slogan "shop like a billionaire" allows consumers to buy directly from Chinese manufacturers at rock-bottom prices. It told the BBC by offering more affordable options for everyday items, it had helped "numerous families mitigate the impact of rising living costs".

United Nations: (IANS) India considers combating terrorism in Afghanistan an immediate priority, according to New Delhi's Permanent Representative to the UN Ruchira Kamboj. India has "direct stakes in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan", she told the Security Council on Wednesday. Listing "our common and immediate
priorities" in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, she mentioned "combating terrorism and drug trafficking" along with safeguarding the rights of women, children and minorities, and the formation of an inclusive government. Calling attention to the "distressing humanitarian situation" in the country battered by floods, earthquakes and an inundation of refugees, she said that assistance for the Afghan people is important. "India has delivered material humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and has also continued its educational scholarships for the Afghan students. We have also partnered with various UN agencies, including UNWFP (World Food Programme) and UNODC (Office on Drugs and Crime) in their humanitarian efforts".

Big Change In Parliament Security After Breach: CISF Replaces Delhi Police

New Delhi: Access to the Parliament complex - a particularly high-profile issue after last week's security breach - will now be guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force, or CISF, the government has said. In a notification issued Wednesday, the Home Ministry said the CISF will replace Delhi Police as the agency in charge, and will take over all responsibilities, including frisking entrants. According to the CISF website, the force provides "integrated security cover to sensitive public sector undertakings". At present it guards over 350 such locations, including airports and nuclear facilities.

During the discussion on the legislation in Lok Sabha today, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said the 1991 Act on the service conditions of top poll officers was a half-baked attempt and the present Bill covers the areas left out by the previous legislation. The Bill was then passed by a voice vote. The legislation underwent substantial changes following objections from various quarters. The Opposition has slammed the legislation, saying it would compromise the independence of the poll panel. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court ruled that election commissioners must be appointed on the advice of a panel comprising the Prime Minister, the Leader of Opposition and the Chief Justice of India. The landmark judgment was aimed at insulating the top election body from political interference. The court, however, held that the judgment will hold good till government comes up with a law.

New Delhi: Opposition lawmakers suspended from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over this week and last took out a protest march Thursday morning from the old Parliament building to Vijay Chowk in central Delhi - about a kilometre apart - carrying a large "Save Democracy" banner, and placards "Opposition MPs Suspended! Is This The End of Democracy?" and "Parliament Caged, Democracy Expelled!" The protest comes amid a bitter row between some of the opposition and the
ruling BJP over the expulsion of more than 140 MPs for "unruly conduct", referring to loud and persistent demands the government answer for the security breach in Parliament last week. The breach was on the 22nd anniversary of a terror attack on the old building, in which nine people were killed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were called on to make formal statements but declined, citing national security concerns. They did, though, speak to the media.

HiIndia Newsdesk
A UK-based reporter from Kerala who went undercover as a care assistant in a care home for the elderly in north-east England discovered worrying levels of exploitation of staff, many of them recruited from overseas countries such as India. Balakrishnan Balagopal’s report for the ‘BBC Panorama’ investigation, which will be telecast here on Monday evening, found carers being charged thousands of pounds by an Indian recruitment agency and nurses locked into lengthy contracts with a care home with financial penalties if they tried to leave jobs. According to official statistics for the past year, 140,000 visas were issued to overseas workers to come to the UK to meet staff shortages in the health and care industry and 39,000 of these went to people from India. "As I delved deeper into the lives of overseas caregivers, I heard a narrative of exploitation, debt, separation from family, and the constant fear of making mistakes,” Balagopal said in a statement. "The pursuit of a permanent visa became a tightrope walk, impacting the quality of care provided. The very individuals tasked with ensuring the happiness and well-being of residents found themselves entangled in a web of instability,” he said. worker visa need to be sponsored by an employer. In theory, they can switch jobs but within a limited timeframe, which can give employers a certain exploitative hold over them. The ‘Care Workers Under Pressure’ investigation for the BBC comes soon after the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), the independent body advising the UK government on immigration, warned of exploitation in the country’s social care sector in its annual report released last week. "Underfunding and consequential low pay contributes to the exploitation of workers in the social care sector. Migrants in the sector on the H&CW (Health & Care Worker) visa are even more susceptible to exploitation as their right to reside in the UK is directly linked to their employer, creating a power imbalance,” the MAC report notes. It issued a series of recommendations for the government to crack down on the exploitation of workers in the social care sector. “Government could consider greater support for migrants when they enter employment and when experiencing exploitation in the UK… such as creating a portal specifically for the care sector where vacancies that would allow migrants to switch employer are posted,” it said. MAC also called on the government to ensure higher wages for the sector on the whole in a bid to wean it off the over-reliance on lower-paid migrant workers. Earlier this month, the Home Office announced that such care workers on a visa will be banned from bringing any close family members as dependents from the new year. The move has been categorised as "extremely unfair" by the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO), the UK’s largest representative body for doctors and nurses of Indian origin. "For anyone to provide a satisfactory and good quality care service, they can't be separated from their own family," said BAPIO founder Dr Ramesh Mehta.

Washington: Republican lawmakers Pete Sessions and Elise Stefanim on Tuesday announced the inauguration of a Congressional Hindu Caucus to protect the interests of this religious minority and raise their issues in the US Congress. Originally established during the 115th Congress, the caucus continues its pivotal role in forging a vital connection between the Hindu-American community and policymakers, a media release said on Tuesday. "The inauguration of the Congressional Hindu Caucus marks a significant step towards recognising and amplifying the voice of the Hindu-American community in our nation's capitol. We are committed to addressing their concerns, celebrating their contributions, and ensuring their perspectives are heard at the highest
levels of government," Sessions said. The Congressional Hindu Caucus, under the chairmanship of Congressman Sessions and Chairwoman Stefanik, is dedicated to representing the values that are significant to the Hindu-American community, it said. Embodying a diverse coalition, the Caucus represents Hindus from various countries including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. It also includes members of other faiths with Indian origins, such as Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists, the statement said. According to the lawmakers, the Congressional Hindu Caucus advocates for free enterprise, limited government, fiscal discipline, strong family values, and a robust foreign policy stance against authoritarian regimes. This proactive approach not only strengthens the Hindu-American presence in Washington but also enhances its influence in shaping a more representative and diverse nation.

New Delhi: The Health Ministry, in a review meeting involving health ministers from various states, underscored the need for a "Whole Of Government" approach to effectively combat the emerging JN.1 coronavirus variant. The World Health Organisation (WHO), in its latest classification on Tuesday, designated the JN.1 coronavirus strain as a "variant of interest." However, reassuringly, the organization stated that, based on current evidence, the global public health risk posed by JN.1 is currently evaluated as low. The virus is part of the parent lineage BA.2.86 and was initially classified as a variant of interest.

Washington, Dec 20 (IANS) Indian-American presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy has pledged to withdraw his name from the Colorado primary ballot unless former President Donald Trump is reinstated. Ramaswamy's move comes after Colorado Supreme Court on Tuesday barred Trump from running in the state's presidential primary, ruling he had engaged in "insurrection" on January 6, 2021. Coming out strongly in support of his Republican presidential rival, Ramaswamy said in a post on X: "This is what an actual attack on democracy looks like: in an un-American, unconstitutional, and unprecedented decision, a cabal of Democrat judges are barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado. "I pledge to*withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot."

Washington: The Colorado Supreme Court on Tuesday disqualified former President Donald Trump from the ballot in the state's presidential election next year over his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters. The ruling makes Trump the first presidential candidate in U.S. history to be deemed ineligible for the White House under a rarely used provision of the U.S. Constitution that bars officials who have engaged in "insurrection or rebellion" from holding office. The court concluded that the U.S. Constitution bars the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in 2024 from appearing on the ballot because of his
role instigating violence against the U.S. government. The ruling applies only to the state's March 5 Republican primary, but its conclusion would likely also affect Trump's status for the Nov. 5 general election. Nonpartisan U.S. election forecasters view Colorado as safely Democratic, meaning that President Joe
Biden will likely carry the state regardless of Trump's fate. The case was brought by a group of Colorado voters, aided by the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, who argued that Trump should be disqualified for inciting his supporters to attack the Capitol in a failed attempt to obstruct the transfer of presidential power to Biden after the 2020 election.

What Led To Mumbai Indians' Captain Change From Rohit Sharma To Hardik Pandya?
L
repeat the same mistakes this time. In all likeliness, MI's Indian retentions would be Suryakumar Yadav (World No. T20I batter), Jasprit Bumrah (arguably the best T20 bowler in the world) and skipper Hardik Pandya. While the exact rules for the IPL 2025 auction aren't known yet, Rohit looks like a big candidate to be released if only three Indians are allowed to be retained.
ook at the factors that might have prompted Mumbai Indians to make the change:
Rohit Sharma's Form:
While Rohit had an impressive Cricket World Cup, his form for MI over the last couple of years wasn't the best. In IPL 2022 season, he scored 268 runs in 14 games at an average of 19.14 while in the 2023 season saw him scoring 332 runs in 16 matches at an average of 20.75. While it can't be said that captaincy was taking a toll on Rohit's performance, MI did not to make a big change if they are to challenge for the title again, while also paving the way for the future.
IPL 2025 Mega Auction:
With just one season to go before the IPL 2025 mega auction gets underway, Mumbai
Smooth Transition:
Indians had to lay out plans for the future. Before the last mega auction, the BCCI allowed franchises to retain a maximum
of three Indian and 2 overseas players. The complex situation saw them release Hardik but the franchise doesn't want to
With Rohit Sharma 36 and still a capable batter, Mumbai Indians want to make the captaincy change at a time where the Hitman can oversee the transition and help Hardik become an even better leader. By making a captaincy change early, MI are reducing the risk of finding late solutions to the problem in a scenario where Rohit might no longer be with the team.

PM Modi Assures Investigation into Plot Against Sikh Separatist in U.S.: Financial Times HiIndia Newsdesk
India will look into any information it receives on its alleged links to a foiled plot to murder a Sikh separatist leader in the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the Financial Times newspaper in an interview published on Wednesday. The issue comes at a delicate juncture for both India and the Biden administration in the United States as they try to build closer ties in the face of shared concerns about China's growing power. "If someone gives us any information, we would definitely look into it," Modi told the paper, as he played down any impact on diplomatic ties with Washington because of the issue. "If a citizen of ours has done anything good or bad, we are ready to look into it. Our commitment is to the rule of law." Last month the US Justice department said an Indian government official had directed the plot, and unveiled charges against a man accused of orchestrating the attempted murder. US officials have named the target of the attempted murder as Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Sikh separatist and dual citizen of the United States and Canada. Pannun is the general counsel of Sikhs for Justice, a group that India labelled an "unlawful association" in 2019, citing its involvement in extremist activities. Subsequently, in 2020, India listed Pannun as an "individual terrorist".News of the U.S. plot came two months after Canada said it was looking at credible allegations linking Indian agents to the June murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, another Sikh separatist, in a Vancouver suburb. India fiercely rejected Ottawa's accusations. Modi said India and Washington shared a "mature and stable partnership". "Security and counter-terrorism cooperation has been a key component of our partnership," he said. "I don't think it is appropriate to link a few incidents with diplomatic relations between the two countries."

U.S. Employment-Based Green Cards Predominantly Granted To Family Members In 2022 HiIndia Newsdesk
WASHINGTON , DC – A new report from the Cato Institute reveals that family members accounted for a significant 55% of the employmentbased (EB) green cards issued in the United States in 2022. Despite Congress setting an annual cap of 140,000 EB green cards, the government issued 270,284 in 2022, drawing from unused green cards in other categories. This resulted in 55% of the total green cards going to family members, leaving only 45% for skilled workers. This distribution pattern has been consistent in recent years. Unlike the global norm, where family and employment-based immigrants typically follow separate tracks, in the U.S., family members secure green cards from the same pool designated for skilled workers, rather than having
a distinct category. Looking ahead to 2023, it is anticipated that nearly 60,000 more green cards will
shift from family-based to employmentbased categories. To address this issue and free up more green cards for
skilled workers, the report suggests two potential solutions. Firstly, Congress could consider exempting family members from the cap altogether or, alternatively, create a new and distinct category for them. This would ensure that skilled workers have a more equitable share of the available green cards. Another proposed solution is to exempt individuals adjusting their status from the EB green card cap. In 2022, a significant 82% of EB green card recipients were already legally residing in the U.S., having changed their status from another visa. By excluding adjustments of status from the cap, the report estimates that the number of highly skilled workers from overseas could increase by a factor of 4.5, contributing to a more balanced distribution of green cards.

New York: (IANS) Child marriage in continue to be prevalent with one in five girls and nearly one in six boys still being married as children, according to study published in The Lancet Global Health that showed stalled progress. The study led by researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health showed that child marriage has declined in India -- but in recent years the practice has become more prevalent in some states/union territories. Child marriage is a human rights violation and a recognised form of gender and sexual-based violence. India’s success in reaching zero child marriage is critical to achieving UN’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 5.3.

San Francisco: (IANS) Researchers have discovered that eating meals early could reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In a study published in the journal Nature Communications, the researchers used data from 103,389 participants in the NutriNet-Sante cohort (79 per cent of whom were women, with an average age of 42) to study the associations between food intake patterns and cardiovascular disease. To reduce the risk of possible bias, the researchers accounted for a large number of confounding factors, especially sociodemographic factors (age, sex, family situation, etc.), diet nutritional quality, lifestyle and sleep cycle.
The findings showed that having a first meal later in the day (such as when skipping breakfast), is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, with a 6 per cent increase in risk per hour delay. "For example, a person who eats for the first time at 9 a.m. is 6 per cent more likely to develop cardiovascular disease than someone who eats at 8 a.m. When it comes to the last meal of the day, eating late (after 9 p.m.) is associated with a 28 per cent increase in the risk of cerebrovascular disease such as stroke compared with eating before 8 p.m., particularly in women," the study said. Moreover, the researchers found that a longer duration of night-time fasting -- the time between the last meal of the day and the first meal of the following day -- is associated with a reduced risk of cerebrovascular disease, supporting the idea of eating one’s first and last meals earlier in the day. According to the Global Burden of Disease study, cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the world, with 18.6 million annual deaths in 2019, of which around 7.9 are attributable to diet. "This means that diet plays a major role in the development and progression of these diseases. The modern lifestyle of Western societies has led to specific eating habits such as eating dinner late or skipping breakfast," the researchers said.

New Delhi: (IANSlife) As we are approaching the holiday season, it brings along with a frenzy of events and get-togethers. Let's not overlook our greatest asset—our hair, as we get ready for our outfits and makeup! Why not try these simple yet sophisticated DIY holiday hairstyles that you can master at home, instead of sticking with your go-to hairstyles? Brace yourself to shine at every event with these underrated yet gorgeous styles that can be done at home.
Classic Twisted Bun
There's nothing that exudes traditional elegance like a twisted bun. Initially, pull your hair back into a low ponytail and fasten it with a hair tie. Separate the ponytail into two halves, then twist each part in the same way. Now, create a gorgeous bun by encircling the twisted portions around one another. For a look to compliment with a saree or lehenga, secure the hairstyle with bobby pins and release a few strands in the front. This adaptable look is ideal for several holiday events and gatherings since it goes well with anything, from cozy sweaters to party dresses.
Braided Beauty
Braided hair never goes out of style! Part your hair in the center to start. Start a basic three-strand braid with a tiny portion of hair from one side. To make a Dutch braid that reaches your hairline, braid in extra hair from the outside portions as you go. On the opposite side, repeat the procedure. After both braids are finished, fasten them with a hair tie at the back of your head. This braided style is perfect for festive events since it gives your attire such as a Lucknowi Chikkankari suit or Salwar-Kameez, a sophisticated touch.
Floral Fantasy
Add a hint of nature to your hairstyle. Start by braiding your hair overnight or using a curling iron to create loose waves in it. As soon as your waves are ready, collect a tiny portion from the front and braid it loosely, pinning
it in place at the back. Now, add a whimsical touch by tucking tiny flowers or floral accessories around the braided part. This bohemianinspired hairdo is ideal for any holiday occasion since it goes well with both traditional and modern attire.
Stunning Jada for Long Locks
Savor the elegance of a classic South Indian Jada if you have long hair. Make a center parting in your hair and style it into two high ponytails on each side. Begin braiding every ponytail strand, then fasten the ends with traditional Jada pins or vibrant hair ties. Let your braids fall naturally down your back for a stately and elegant appearance. This look looks great with silk sarees and is sure to draw attention at any holiday party.
The Half-Up, Half-Down
Combine the grace of an updo with the ease of flowing hair to create a majestic appearance. To add volume and structure to your hair, start by curling it. Next, remove a little portion of hair from the top of each ear on either side of your head, and tie or pin it back with an ornamental hairpin. This sleek and elegant look showcases the beauty of your hair in a half-up, half-down style. A good hairdo can give you the confidence boost you've always desired, and healthy, attractive hair can also enhance your look. You might even be able to feel good about yourself and tackle challenges that previously felt overwhelming through this extra confidence boost! You can quickly add a dash of elegance and culture to your festive appearance with these five simple hairstyles. You can become the life of the party whether you choose a traditional bun, braided beauty, flowery fantasy, regal half-up, half-down, or magnificent jada. So prepare to dazzle this holiday season by gathering your style supplies and accessories! N. Lothungbeni Humtsoe can be contacted at lothungbeni.h@ians.in
