Become a Resource Foster Parent & Help a Foster Child in Need
Our Commitment to Serving Foster Youth As San Diego’s oldest children’s nonprofit, we were founded in 1887 to provide shelter, care and hope for orphaned youth. Although times have changed since our founding, we have remained committed to serving children and teens in the foster care system who are in need of a nuturing home. Today, over 3,000 children and teens in San Diego County have been removed from their homes because of unspeakable abuse, trauma and neglect. No child should ever experience this level of pain or feel alone and unwanted. Our Special Families Foster Care program is a Foster Family Agency (FFA) that specializes in placing foster youth in safe and nurturing homes, and in training and certifying individuals who want to open their loving homes to youth in need. The youth we serve are 0-to-21-years-old and have mental, emotional and behavioral struggles. Due to their unfortunate experiences, it is important to provide these youth with a structured support system and home environment to help foster their growth toward a life of success.
A Program Like No Other Our licensed FFA is regarded as a highly exceptional program in San Diego County. We help foster youth find hope and healing for a brighter future, and create memorable life-changing experiences for resource foster parents.
