Most museums are located in central London meaning the local community of East London have to travel by car or public transport in order to explore and gather knowledge from an interesting museum. There are very few entertainment areas and buildings in East London/Newham and therefore lacks fun, adventure and excitement.

Wanstead flats is in the southern part of Epping Forest in Leytonstone and Wanstead. It now falls within the boundaries of the London Boroughs of Redbridge and Waltham Forest, though until 1994 two parts of it were in the London Borough of Newham. It is mostly a large area of open grassland perfect for sports, picnics and enjoying nature. However, the forest is big enough and it consists of other areas of grass where it is possible to relax and enjoy the greenery. Therefore, this space should be used as the location base of an upcoming museum in which the local community can explore and gather knowledge. Not only would it be suitable for local residents but also people from all over London as it begins to become more known as it consists of easy access trails and public transport near by.

Currently the field area does not offer a numerous amount of facilities to the community and visitors for example toilets or refreshment facilities nearby.

The area is surrounded by houses and very few shops. There is nothing interactional in this area for the local community to put to good use and have fun/ entertain themselves.

There are some schools near by and therefore the chosen location is suitable. Students from school near by could visit the museum on school trips rather than them having to travel to central London to visit an interactional place.

The green area is the park itself and it covers a large area but there is nothing interactive or interesting about it. There are a few main roads around the park which is an advantage as it makes it more accessible to the public.
