About us PaĂs textil is the trade mark of Cumpi Camayoc (master weavers in Quechua) a company dedicated to the development of handicrafts in PerĂş .We design and implement social development projects in crafts and manufacturing, in rural and urban areas, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy funded by solidary companies. Our main goal is to support the production and business development of the groups of artisans we work with and get fair prices for their work, but also to recover and foster ancient techniques of textile weaving and enhance the value of traditional Peruvian handicrafts.We promote the use of first-class materials and put a lot of work in creating contemporary designs, inspired in the textile living culture of Peru.

Tejedores de Cajamarquilla (Weavers of Cajamarquilla) is an association of Artisans , a group of men and women who migrated to Lima the capital of Peru, from Andean regions like Ayacucho, Junin, Huanuco and Huancavelica. They now live in outskirts of Lima, near the archaeological complex of Cajamarquilla . 4

The project that Cumpi Camayoc is currently working with Tejedores de Cajamarquilla, aims to recover pre-Hispanic textile techniques of backstrap loom weaving , and to generate a profitable business for the Artisans, also focusing on rich and contemporary designs.

YANA COLLECTION

This collection is handwoven by Tejedores de Cajamarquilla in backstrap looms with mercerized pima cotton. Yana Collection is a display of technical styles in backstrap weaving; symmetrical striped fabrics , dashed lines, small and large squares, as well as birds and colorful tassels. The main theme is white and black (yana in Quechua), with color accents in red, orange, yellow and fuccia. This collection was inspired by: Chumpis (traditional belts), with motifs of birds and mountains in zigzag; Waracas (traditional slingshots) which have been incorporated into the pillow covers and traditional tassels (pompons) of the Andean world.

Llampu Maki (soft hands in Quechua) an association of artisans who live in the vicinity of the archaeological site of Caral (Supe Valley-in the Region of Lima) They are a group of men and women who weave cotton in natural colors, cultivated with ecological standards. 28

The cotton grown in the area -in a project to restore the use of this cotton used for centuries in Peru-grows in colors ranging from grays, through browns and greens. The project that Cumpi Camayoc developes with Llampu Maki aims to recover of pre-Hispanic textile techniques in backstrap loom weaving , and to generate profitable bussines for the artisans.

NATIVA COLLECTION

Nativa collection is handwoven in backstrap looms by Llampu Maki in ecological cotton grown in natural colors. Naturally colored cotton is unique and exceptionally different from white cotton as it does not need to be dyed and is enviromental friendly, the technique in weaving make them softer to the skin. The pieces finishes are hand braided in beautiful and delicate designs.
