ndless rainy days. Green on green. Trees growing out of trees. A wet book abandoned on the house steps. Raindrops pooling on a shiny table. I am happy for the renewal that spring brings (and sunglasses). I am looking through the camera lens like a fascinated tourist who is seeing the familiar as unfamiliar elements of visual poetry— abstraction, grace, line, form, and unique juxtapositions in the changing light. Sandy Kaufman is a painter and photographer living in Brooklyn, New York. He has worked for Columbia University and New York University for the past 20 years as print/creative director while continuing to work on his paintings and photography. Now, he is focused solely on his personal art.
