A Glimpse of the Universe What a month it's been~with the attacks in Nice and all that's been going on in the Black Lives Matter--it seems we are not only struggling with our own voices and our own stance in the world but with our brothers and sisters as well! Recently I saw a posting on Facebook after the Nice attacks that promoted everyone going to their gun cabinets and stocking up. Get ready world--they're coming to get you next was the inherent message. I was astounded and shaken up quite a bit by the posting and the responses garnered. So many people out there striving to be heard--wanting to be listened to--and all focusing on getting their message out to the ones sitting across the circle from them. Meanwhile fear, anger and rage are being born yet again up here in the Northwoods. Astounding if you know the actual vibe of Mother Nature up here. Deer peacefully roam freely, crows sing their wake up calls practically on your windowsill and people come from miles away for the peaceful relaxing Up North feel that they can find nowhere else. These diametrically opposed rage inspired activities seem incredibly normal for this time--on almost every front page headline across the world. If we look back on our children's terrible twos we can hopefully learn a thing or two--about not only ourselves and our initial reactions to what is going on in our lives, but our fellow man as a whole. What did you do when your children went through that stage? How did you parent? Times have changed as well as parenting styles and chances are your children's children are being parented in a different way than yours were. What are your children doing with your grandchildren? Any limits being set? Time outs? Our hope is that the messages you are all wanting to scream or shout out to the Universe are heard so that we can all come together in Peace. What one might consider is not necessarily shouting out to the folks across the circle from you--unless physical action is required to move an event--is to pray about it. Give thanks about it. Pretend you are an adult

even if its hard to do--and do something good with those feelings of anger, fear and rage. All you are doing when you spout off in a retaliatory manner is standing right up side that gun toting terrorist and say do it again. Kill them all. Who cares anymore, right? I do. How do I handle it? These are the reminders that help me to stay grounded and centered in today's world: Speak with Creator and Mother Earth on these things that are ravishing your hearts and minds; making you become agitated and/or fearful, angry or upset. Creator and Mama Earth are speaking through each of us and it is imperative at this time for us to be speaking back to them. Include them in your diatribe--include your elders and children, your neighbors and your work mates. Use that energy wisely and creatively to do some good out in the world, but ALWAYS remember to include Creator and Mother Earth. They should be the beginning point and the ending point of each action, thought or deed in the world. Standing up for who you are, what you think and believe, what you've been shown or the traditions that have been handed down to you are all so important at this juncture. YOU are Seen, Heard and Listened to--even when the Universe is not responding the way you would wish for. Begin to focus on each occurrence in your life and see how Your actions and choices have brought some of the stumbling blocks in. Remove those and move forward into peace. Remember, you are no longer that 2 year old child screaming in a tantrum about a cookie---you are now an adult! Actions that stem from anger and hatred only fuel more anger and hatred in the world. What are the tenets of your spiritual background--are they full enough to hold all of what you are feeling or seeing now? Do you need to reassess those tenets? Creator and Mother Earth are asking each of us to step up, speak up and do what we are here to do. There is no need for the rage and anger---people are finding their places, finding their spiritual homes and families, setting up camps--whether it be in the physical or in belief. As you define your own self--again remember to include your spiritual selves. Start and end each day in prayer. Start and end each action in prayer. If you find yourself hating, full of rage or continuously complaining--look hard for good. I've been guided for the past several years every day to find the good, find the truthful, find the friends out there. Asked continuously by Creator if there was truth and good out there. Some days have been devastating. Yet each day that arises the sun comes out, the birds sing their songs and life goes on. Remember to look for that good around you. Be that good in the world-use what your traditional ways have taught you and be that now. and lastly--LOOK around you. Look at the lessons Mother Earth has for you at this time. Right outside your windows. Are the deer killing each other in your backyard? If you are a hunter--is what you are seeing out there indicative of 'all-hell's-breaking-loose-and-the-world-is-at-an-end' sort of day? Set an intention internally to find out how to handle a situation, then go outside and see what the Universe responds with. You will be shown too--that we are at a crossroads. You can choose Peace. or You can choose Hatred. What are you seeing out there? Go on and make it a beautiful day for yourselves, your family and your neighbor. Then, make sure to do so for someone who may never know about it. Those are the gifts Creator and Mother Earth are wondering if you will choose. Choose wisely, there are children around. Bright blessings,

CANNABINOIDS

What are cannabinoids? There are nearly 500 natural compounds in marijuana and over 100 of those chemical compounds (thanks to a recent discovery) are called cannabinoids. You may be wondering why you should care about these compounds…well, because cannabinoids are responsible for marijuana’s effects on the body, like the reason you get high. Cannabinoids are unique chemicals found in the Cannabis plant and work with the human body, more specifically the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system in humans produces its own chemicals for things like fighting off diseases in multiple organs and systems found in the body. So, CBD’s imitate what endocannabinoids do by attaching to the same receptors in the brain and both immune and nervous systems. The cannabinoids found in marijuana are separated into subclasses, some of those being: 1. Cannabigerols (CBG) 2. Cannabichromenes (CBC) 3. Cannabidiols (CBD) The next one will most likely ring a bell… 4. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) 5. Cannabinol (CBN) and Cannabinodiol (CBDL)

How do cannabinoids affect marijuana users? Cannabinoids can have an effect on the user by interacting with specific receptors that are located in different parts of the central nervous system.

When you smoke and/or vape marijuana, CBD’s enter your lungs, then are quickly transferred to your heart before being directed to your brain. Once in the brain, the CBD’s seek out specific receptors and latch onto them. The entire process only takes about 2 to 3 minutes So far, two cannabinoid receptors have been found: CB1 and CB2. However, there could be more types of receptors out there that have yet to be discovered. CB1 receptors are located within the nervous system, brain, and nerve endings while CB2 receptors are within the immune system. Different cannabinoids have different effects depending on which receptors they bind to. So, knowing what cannabinoid binds with what receptor can help you achieve different types of relief.

What do cannabinoids do? There are numerous subclasses of CBD’s, each one having a different effect. Two of the most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD. THC has psychoactive properties and is known for giving you that high feeling; a feeling of euphoria and relaxation. However, THC also provides users with a significant amount ofmedicinal benefits including relieving pain, improving appetite and helping with depression and anxiety. THC has also been linked to providing positive effects to specific illnesses like cancer and Crohn’s disease. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and calms the high that THC gives off. CBD is also believed to have medicinal benefits like anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to protect your neurons from injury. Different strains of cannabis have different percentages of both CBD and THC, which is important to know, especially if you’re smoking for a specific reason like joint pain.

Why it’s important to know about cannabinoids? Different cannabinoids can help treat different symptoms. Continued research in the cannabis community has led to major, medical findings. For example, a combination of THC and CBD can help with nausea, ADHD, and anxiety, CBG and THC help with glaucoma and CBD oil helps epileptic children. Understanding CBD’s can help you educate yourself and others on why and how cannabis is safe and effective at tackling specific conditions. from the Hemp Oil Benefits

This weekend!!! July 28 - 30th and then August 18 - 20.

Five teas that will make your skin glow!! Your skin is your body's largest organ and it has the potential to absorb many ingredients that you apply topically to it. On the negative side, potentially toxic chemicals and carcinogens can find their way into your bloodstream through creams, perfumes, and cosmetics. On the positive side, you can take charge of what goes into your body, through foods and daily care products, and reap the benefits of what nature has to offer us. Herbal teas are a wonderful addition to your daily skin care regimen. Teas such as green, black, and peppermint are aromatically uplifting and can help to tighten pores. Chamomile and lavender flowers are calming and can help to reduce inflammation. The next time you steep some herbal tea, keep the used tea bags, open them up, and use them in your face masks and scrubs.

Here are five teas to use for glowing skin: 1. Chamomile: Turn chamomile tea into ice cubes and use them in a cold compress for puffy eyes. Roman chamomile is calming, German chamomile has anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties, making it useful for puffy eyes and acne. You should never use ice directly on your skin, though. Wrap a few chamomile ice cubes in a cloth, then apply to eyes for no longer than 10 minutes at a time.

2. Green Tea: Tone normal to oily skin with green tea. Topically, green tea works well with reducing inflammation, removing bacteria and excess oil, and free radical protection. The antioxidants and polyphenols in green tea are among the most powerful in helping to protect the skin from environmental damage. The U.S. National Library of Medicine states that the antioxidant power in green tea polyphenols inhibit UV damage. Steep 1 cup of green tea in hot water, just before boiling point, and cover for 8 minutes. Remove tea bag and pour water into a spray bottle or glass bottle with lid.

Add 1 cup of witch hazel or aloe vera juice. Use daily with a cotton pad after cleansing.

3. Calendula: Add your steeped calendula tea bags to yogurt and rolled oats for a mask high in antioxidants. Calendula, also known as the pot marigold flower, has been used for centuries for its healing properties. It's often infused into an oil and used in ointments and rash creams. Topically, it helps to heal minor abrasions, wounds, acne, rashes, and inflammatory skin conditions. It's high in flavonoids, helping to protect the skin from environmental damage. Steep 2 bags of calendula tea for 8 minutes. Remove tea bags from water and squeeze out excess. Open tea bags into ½ cup plain yogurt and Ÿ cup rolled oats. Mix well and apply to a clean face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Wipe off with a cloth and rinse well.

4. Peppermint: Cool off in hot weather with peppermint face spritz. Peppermint tea is often used for soothing the digestive system, but it also helps to cool the body internally and externally. It's naturally antiseptic and antibacterial, making it a perfect herbal remedy to beat the summer heat. Steep a bag of peppermint tea in 1 cup of water for 8 to 10 minutes, covered. Remove bag and pour peppermint tea infusion into a dark glass spray bottle. Spritz face when you need a cool down or are suffering from a headache. Keep refrigerated for extra cooling benefits.

5. Black Tea: Black tea contains tannins that help to tone the skin, accelerate skin cell regeneration, and protect from free radicals that cause premature aging. You can steep a pot of black tea and pour the infusion directly into your bathwater, or try opening up the tea bag and add it to 2 tablespoons of honey. Gently exfoliate the face with the mixture and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse well and follow with moisturizer or plain coconut oil. From MindBodyGreen

You never know how much your help can do for a person. Suggestions? buy more soap and help out your friends! Many thanks in advance! Mark's page listing: Just asking if at all possible for some monetary help to pay for bills; to reimburse my roommate, to help pay for future/upcoming medical fees that are not going to be covered by Insurance. Disability still has not been approved; as I have not been able to return to work and earn a wage. Like every one says; every little bit helps. The car crash on June 29th; 2016, has been very tiring both physically and emotionally.
