Swimming pool water is our element. Protec足 tion of the environment is close to our hearts! Our engineers and technicians research in the area of energy conservation with persist足 ence and meticulousness and incorporate their knowledge directly into the manufac足 turing of energy-efficient treatment systems.

Consequently, our products also actively contribute to climate protection. Reduction in water maintenance chemical consumption has proven to be especially environmentally friendly, and also saves on operating costs.

Our company building, our production processes and our vehicle fleet are also part of the environmental outlook, with the goal of reducing CO2 emission wherever possible.

Energy Efficiency and Climate Protection – with intelligent swimming pool technology Energy efficiency is the key to success in re ducing costs and CO2 emissions. To this end, Ospa has always used natural common salt and highly efficient active carbon for minimal consumption of disinfectants, as well as the most modern swimming pool technology and innovative control computers. The ground work for energyefficient, costeffective oper ation is already laid during the design phase. The heart of the treatment system is Ospa BlueControl®, the intelligent control system that precisely controls all functions of the swimming pool and also provides for energyefficient operation. This innovative technology ensures that energy is saved, all water values lie within the green range and that CO2 emissions are avoided and that our resources and environment are protected. Thanks to modern Ospa swimming pool techno logy, all energy consumers in the swimming pool are developed for energy saving operation. This starts at production of the disinfectant, which is produced on site by our Chlorozone process from regenerative salt, on demand. And it continues into the pumps. An important component of modern Ospa swimming pool tech nology are frequencycontrolled pumps whose energy con sumption is regulated according to the power needed so that energyefficient operation and optimal circulation volume flow are ensured at all times. The motors used conform to the new EU standard for electrical motors which requires them to have greater energy efficiency. The Ospa swimming pool technology's energy saving functions also include an energy saving mode when at rest. This means: in resting phases, when the rolltop cover is closed, the room temperature is lowered.

Because Ospa BlueControl® also communicates with the air conditioning and is controlled via the Ospa BlueControl® touchscreen, this is possible with no trouble at all. Lowering the room temperature saves energy and consequently reduces operating costs. Another measure for energyefficient operation of the swim ming pool is the lowering of the water level during resting peri ods. This keeps the overflow channel dry and circulation takes place only via one pool suction point. This energy saving mode is programmed into the Ospa Blue Control®. The intelligent control monitors the processes. The energysaving effect of this: no water can evaporate via the overflow channel, and the air conditioning system has less to dehumidify. Correspondingly less current is used. And the water is circu lated only in the socalled small circuit, not via the surge water reservoir, which further minimizes energy consumption. Of course, Ospa BlueControl® also monitors that no energy is unnecessarily consumed during operation of the water features. For example, a feature sequence control can be programmed, which is particularly useful for hotels and public pools: individual features are mutually locked so that they cannot run simultaneously and thereby avoid expensive power peaks.

Ospa Chlorozone® units gently disinfect water for the highest water quality.

An important component of modern swimming pool technology is the use of LED spotlights, which of course can also be activated by Ospa BlueControl®. LEDs, particularly the coloured RGB spotlights, don't only look good, they also last significantly longer than conventional halogen spotlights. This means fewer bulb changes and significantly reduced maintenance costs as a result. And what's really important: LEDs consume only a fraction of the energy consumed by conventional halogen spotlights. Last but not least: Ospa BlueControl® and, as a result, all Ospa swimming pool technology can be connected to common bus systems in residential buildings. Operators thereby achieve optimal networking of all energy consumers in their residential building, with full utilization of all installations, including the swimming pool and wellness facilities, at lower energy con sumption and without sacrificing comfort. An optimized control technology wherein the Ospa swimming pool technology is integrated into the overall system provides for energy-efficient operation of the system at all times. The entire system of energy efficiency only works, however, if all components come from one source and are coordinated with each other – by your system supplier. Ospa offers you modern swimming pool technology and the know-how of over 80 years of research and development. 4|5

Ospa Super filter units even remove taste and odor particles with their additional active carbon layer.

Ospa-BlueControl® has many energy saving functions: • Semi-load mode and frequency control of pumps • Lowering of water level with direct suction out of the pool • Roll-top cover control • Solar mode • Feature locking and feature sequence control • FC control of feature pumps • Automatic filter flushing • LED-RGB light control • Air conditioning link-up • Heating control • Draining of the pool water into a thermally insulated reservoir in the case of outdoor whirlpools All of these measures save heating energy, power, water and water treatment chemicals, as well as reduce operating costs and protect the environment.

1 Ospa-BlueControl® The intelligent control with pool process automation is the heart of energy savings in the pool. The components communicate via the Ospa swimming pool bus and inhouse control systems as applicable. 2 Frequency controlled circulation and feature pumps Ospa circulation pumps are extremely costeffective and especially energyefficient. Additional savings are created by the use of frequency converters for speed and power control

3 Reversing valve The optimized Ospa reversing valve significantly reduces the system resistance, thereby noticeably saving on energy. 4 Injector An injector and/or a small boosting pump with reduced boosting current. 5 Pool hydraulics The pool hydraulics are improved with regard to energy use by the installation of multiple inlet nozzles. This causes a reduction of inlet resistance.

The heater can additionally be operated in bypass. 10 LED lighting Significant energy can be saved by using LEDs instead of halogen spotlights. The longer service life of LED diodes also protects our resources. 11 Water feature control via BlueControl® The program sequence controlled by BlueControl® and the mutual locking of features reduces expensive power peaks.

The Ospa philosophy The joy of swimming and of one's own swimming pool are the center of concern at Ospa. Products from Ospa are also committed to the environment, however. Our products and our methods serve the goals of protecting health, increasing comfort through extensive automation, observing environmental concerns and protecting and maintaining the environ ment through water treatment that is as gentle as possible. This is achieved

through frugal handling of natural re sources and minimal use of water treat ment chemicals and energy. Not only our products serve the goal of environmental protection, however; the company itself is committed to the mindset of energy efficiency: the company building is configured for sustainability and resourceprotecting operation thanks to high quality thermal insulation, modern gas heating in place of conventional oil heating and the

use of frequency controlled pumps. The same applies to the manufacturing of our products, which are created in an energy and resourceconserving production. As a result of these measures, we reduce our environmental footprint by more than 80,000 kg of CO2 per year.
