luis Schwarzenberger was a mountaineer, skier and alpinist to his very core. When he suffered a double vertebral fracture in a serious skiing accident in 1994, he reached a turning point in his life. Doctors then thought that a risky operation was the only option. luis Schwarzenberger, however, already saw his recovery and return to sports and sought out other forms of therapy. When an alternative medical specialist whom he had befriended told him about deep heat treatment, luis Schwarzenberger was gripped by the idea. he studied infrared heat with a passion and achieved what was nearly impossible: Deep heat activated his self-healing abilities and, a few weeks later, he was back on his feet. Fully convinced of this application, together with an infrared specialist he developed special low-temperature infrared technology using the patented lava sand technology. What followed was and is a unique success story - made in Tyrol.

ThE PhySIOThErm PrINCIPlE 1. Thermoneutral zone relaxes At a pleasant air temperature of approx. 27â&#x20AC;&#x201C;37 degrees Celsius (thermoneutral zone) the body is able to relax while additional heat is applied exclusively through the back. 2. lava sand stores heat The special lava sand, held in ceramic tubes, stores the applied heat for a longer period of time.

3. blood transports heat The emitter gives out infrared C radiation - this is transformed into heat on the skin and then transported deep into the body via the blood. 4. Sweating from the inside out Physiotherm infrared cabins operate significantly below the fever range of 38 degrees Celsius (core body temperature) yet still cause perspiration which helps circulation.

Targeted application of heat heat has many positive effects on the body and has therefore been used for millennia. however, only by considering the function of the human heat regulation system is it possible to use the power of heat in a targeted and gentler manner. Physiotherm has developed a concept which does so. hyperbaric chamber: researching for health The photo shows a test system of a hyperbaric infrared cabin - a pressure chamber combined with an infrared cabin which, in future, will be used to successfully treat ailments such as badly-healing wounds, chronic infections, the effects of metabolic problems all the way to tinnitus.

INfrarEd IdEal fOr SPrEadINg warmTh Unique in the world - automatically individually adjusted heat transfer The combination of patented lava sand technology and special reflector geometry makes it possible to create a homogeneous and well-adjusted irradiated area. The additional use of a control system which offers a specific intensity profile adapted to the heat absorption capacity of the skin allows a further refined attunement to the requirements of the human body. The high point of this consistent development work was the creation of SensoCare® technology. The continuous measurement of the skin temperature of the user allows the heat transfer in each phase of operation to be individually and automatically adjusted to their momentary requirements: Maximum efficiency with maximum safety. The body's heat regulation – the path to deep heat The heat regulation system must constantly keep the body's core temperature within a very tight range 36–37.3 °C. however, the body's outer regions (musculature, connective tissue etc.) tolerate significantly lower temperatures. heat is transported within the body exclusively via the blood and is exchanged with the surrounding environment via the skin. If it is cold, circulation to the skin is curbed.

heat loss via the skin (i.e. infrared C emission) is limited and the return flow of cooled blood is reduced. on the other hand, if it is hot, circulation to the skin is massively increased. The return flow of warmed blood is prevented, however, in order to prevent an increase in the body's core temperature. In both situations, the body's heat regulation system works to prevent a heat transfer which would increase the core temperature. The thermoneutral zone holds the key only in the thermoneutral zone (for a resting, unclothed adult approx. 27–37 °C air temperature) are the body's heat absorption and emission are balanced. If, under these conditions, heat is applied over no more than 10–12% of the skin surface (ideally on the back), this transfer of heat to the body's core is tolerated. This added heat can be gradually distributed outwards from the body's core (isothermal transfer). This permits heat to be spread from within, without leading to an artificial fever and with a very limited effect on the circulatory system.

ThE COlOUrEd lIghT baTh: Colours have a positive effect on our moods, strengthen the immune system and increase the resilience of our nerves. All Physiotherm infrared cabins therefore have a selection of five coloured light baths with various effects. however, only one colour is recommended per use, since the senses only adjust to the light after 15 minutes. SPrUCE As standard, all Physiotherm infrared cabins are offered in spruce. The beloved wood used in homes is particularly distinguished by its charmingly playful surface. A somewhat structured wood with some large branches. May darken depending on exposure to light. Colour differences between the slats are rather limited.
