WHY LJUBLJANA CASTLE FOR YOU? Throughout your visit, your well-being will be taken care of by your personal castle assistant. At the Ljubljana Castle, stunning views of Ljubljana and its surroundings await you. You will become acquainted with the castle’s history first at a private viewing of the projection in the Virtual Castle, and then on a guided tour with a castle guide and costumed characters. We will treat your taste buds with lunch at one of the castle restaurants, and you will conclude your day at the Ljubljana Castle with wine tasting in the Castle Vineyard.
PROGRAM You will be guided through your unique experience by a personal castle assistant, who will wait for you at your hotel at the agreed time and take you to the lower funicular railway station. The most comfortable and picturesque route to the Ljubljana Castle is on the funicular railway – a short ride full of wonderful views.
Spiral stairs will lead you up the Viewing Tower, where you can enjoy views of Ljubljana from the very top, 400 meters above sea level. In good weather, as much as a third of Slovenia can be seen from the Viewing Tower.
At a private screening of the 12-minute projection in the Virtual Castle, you will witness the history of the Ljubljana Castle, its architectural development and archaeological findings – right up to the form it takes today.
PROGRAM A unique experience of the castle history is provided by the guided tour “Time Machine�, with costumed characters,who will lead you through six key periods that marked the history of the Ljubljana Castle and the development of the city of Ljubljana.
After all of the history, you will surely be in the mood for a delicious lunch. In the castle restaurant, you will be served culinary delights by top chefs, while the ambience of the castle restaurant will provide a touch of authenticity and timelessness.
After lunch, your personal castle assistant will take you on a short walk along the Castle Hill to see the Castle Vineyard and enjoy wine tasting. Your unique experience of the Ljubljana Castle can end there, or you can extend your visit and view one of the exhibitions, relax in the Castle Coffee Shop, visit the castle shop Experience2go, or stroll along the chestnut lined avenue and enjoy the green oasis above the city.
