Introduction:It is a great pleasure to share the report of CoE school inauguration function held in Kolar district. CoE stands for Centre of Teacher Excellence. This is the wonderful opportunity for Kolar District to receive the CoE program because the name of the program itself defines that, it is specially invented for Teachers. It means teachers have to integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum instead of viewing it as an add-on or an event. We extremely thank to Applied Materials for providing such a good opportunity for Government School Teachers to upgrade in their Teaching Learning Process. Let’s go into the report now‌
Inauguration:The function started at 12:00 pm. As per the culture, the guests inaugurated the CoE Program by cutting the tape. The laptops provided by AIFT under CoE Program were well arranged in the staff room. The Head Teacher and Assistant Teachers were explained about, how the laptops been used in their teaching process. Mr. Balaji, (GHS Sulur, Head Teacher) explained some the videos downloaded and software installed like Encyclopedia for effective classroom transaction. The DIET principal was extremely happy and appreciated the teachers for taking the initiative in terms of adopting the new technology and new techniques to integrate in the Teaching Learning Process.
As soon as the Government Officials and community arrived at the stage Mr. Rajanna formally welcomed everybody and honoured with the flower buds. As per the Indian formalities Mr. Balaji sang the beautiful devotional song regarding the goddess Saraswathi. And then the guests initiated the function by lighting the lamp.
Inaugural Speech:Mr. Balaji started the inaugural speech. Firstly he thanked AIFT for selecting the GHS Sulur School for DE Program and secondly he appreciated AMAT for inventing the CoE Program in Kolar District through AIFT. During his talk he explained his wonderful experience what he had while using the laptop. He was very much excited and said that, he can see the changes in the student’s behaviour too. Before CoE Program whenever the teacher enter the classroom, the students used to sit with no exciting expression on their face. But after the CoE Program all the teachers used to carry the laptop inside the classroom. This brought positive change in the student’s attitude. All the students started to be quite in the classroom to listen the lesson through the laptop. Later they began to share this good news with their parents and friends. On the whole the CoE Program brought a new look to the Government School. Speech by Ms. Usha:Ms. Usha felt happy for attending the inaugural function. Before she could start her speech, she shared her experience regarding the previous day CoE school visit. She found that teachers are adopting the laptop as a tool in the Teaching Learning Process. More over the students are able to accept the changes in their learning because the children are excepting the change in the Teaching methodology. Teachers Opinion:Mr. Amar Babu (GHS Alwatta, Head Teacher) shared his opinion about the CoE Program. He mentioned that all the teachers of his school carrying the laptop every day to their classes. Being a Hindi teacher, he is also trying lot of innovative activities through technology to improve the interest level of the students. The more appreciating part of his school is, even the drawing teacher impressed by the CoE Program and doing the projects in the computer itself.
Guest Speech:Mr.Anjinappa (DIET Principal, Kolar District) shared few words about the initiative taken by AIFT for rural districts. He thanked AIFT for working with the collaboration of Government and supporting the Education by providing Hardware facility and Trainings related to Technology and Pedagogy. He was happy to see the laptop in the Government School, so he strongly advised the teachers to make optimal use of this opportunity to the betterment of Teaching Learning Process to be more effective. Scholarship Distribution:At the end of the program the guests distributed the scholarship cheques for 2 topper students. The main intention of thi s scholarship distribution was to motivate the SSLC students to score good marks and also to obtain the same facility from AIFT from next academic year.
