Garbage segregation has been high on our agenda in these places which have not yet woken up to the hazards of garbage. Our long nurtured plan was finally set rolling on November 25th 2011 when Dr. Meenakshi Bharath came to give a talk on the need for segregation and demo of composting for the Government High School, Muthur, and Mallur Grama Panchayat Members .

A TREE PLANTING PROGRAMME • JANET YEGNESWARAN, of the NGO “ trees for free”, gave 50 saplings to Governement High School, Muthur. Saplings consists of lime, bitterlime, nerale, neem honge, akash malliger, gasgase, ticoma argentina, sampige, basavanapada etc. High school students are taking of the plants by providing water, manure etc. in august 2009.

SANJEEVINI VANA • Under eco club activity in our school we have established a medicinal plantation consisting of 20 different medicinal plants growing in green house which caters to the immediate medication. All these plants are watered and taken care by the students itself.
