Unfortunately, your skin can also testify to the fact that you may not be getting the right nutrition or you are not exactly at the peak of your health right now. Instead of heading on out to the pharmacist for some over-the-counter medications or cosmetic products that may make your skin look worse, it might be best if could try improving your natural health nutrition instead. Banana. Banana is rich in potassium, as well as Vitamin A. The mashed pulp of this fruit, mixed with honey and about ½ cup of oats can make a good cleansing face mask that will leave the skin feeling tight but supple.

Strawberry. This fruit is rich in Vitamin C, but it also has astringent properties. Pulped, strawberries can be used as a good natural cleansing facial and body wash. It can clear out pores and tone the skin. It also leaves that cool feeling after each wash. Melon. Ripe melons are usually great sources of Vitamin B and C, but it also contains naturally cooling properties which can be used on damaged skin. For best results, simply mash the melon (overripe melons work better) and apply directly on the affected areas. Allow the pulp to sit there for 10 minutes and gently wash off.

Parsley. Believe it or not, parsley can be used as an anti-freckle solution. It has skin lightening properties and is also rich in antioxidants. For best results, pound the parsley leaves in a pestle and add 2 to 3 tablespoon of olive oil. Allow the mixture to sit for 20 or 30 minutes to let the parsley juice infuse all throughout the oil. Apply on the skin and leave it on for more than 30 minutes. Wash off with soap and gently pat the skin dry. Reapply the mixture whenever possible. Anise oil. Anise is an aromatic seed that contains antibacterial and astringent properties. Anise oil, which can be bought readily at the baking section of your local grocery store, can be applied directly on the skin to help clear off dead skin cells and cleanse clogged pores. Macadamia oil. Macadamia oil (found in specialty stores) is a natural skin soother. This is a perfect product to use on dry, chapped, irritated or sun damaged skin. Apply the oil liberally on the affected areas and allow to dry. Do not wash off.

Water. Without a doubt, dehydration makes your skin look papery, dry and dull. The simple expedient of increasing your water intake can invigorate your epidermis noticeably, but you might also want to spray or splash water on your skin if the temperature gets too warm. Washing your face often with mild soap and lukewarm water can also re-hydrate your skin in a hurry.
