Sul retro dei pannelli compositi ALUCOBOND® vengono eseguite apposite fresature. La forma della fresatura determina il raggio di piegatura. Le fresature pos-

sono essere realizzate sia con una lama circolare su sezionatrice verticale per pannelli accessoriata con dispositivo di fresa per ALUCOBOND®, che con centri di lavoro CNC, oppure con fresatrici manuali. Il concetto progettuale per il nuovo snodo dei trasporti pubblici ha comportato la creazione di una scultura leggera e galleggiante. La copertura in ALUCOBOND ® di 1.800 metri quadri costituisce la caratteristica progettuale più attraente della modernizzazione della stazione autobus.

Un ponte pedonale collega la nuova stazione centrale degli autobus di Amburgo Poppenbüttel con il collegamento rapido ferroviario e il parcheggio park+ride. Il rivestimento tridimensionale in ALUCOBOND®, immediatamente riconoscibile, colpisce subito l’occhio e ha trasformato la zona di attesa in un punto di riferimento architettonico nel centro della città. L'Associazione Architettura e Ingegneria di Amburgo (AIV) ha insignito il progetto del titolo “Edificio dell’Anno 2009”. La giuria è rimasta particolarmente impressionata dalla leggerezza e dalla trasparenza della nuova costruzione.

All'interno dell'edificio, le forme e le curve sinuose dell'auditorium sono in forte contrasto con l'austero, cubico aspetto esterno. Calcestruzzo e ALUCOBOND ® naturAL Brushed stabiliscono una continuità materiale tra l'esterno e l'interno.

Lo studio di architettura viennese Coop Himmelb(l)au ha progettato la Casa della Musica come una fusione tra scuola e sala da concerto, con un design a pianta aperta per promuovere l'interazione tra il pubblico, gli artisti, gli studenti e gli educatori. Secondo Wolf. D. Prix, Direttore Design e CEO di Coop Himmelb(l)au, “Il concetto dietro l'edificio è evidente dalla sua forma esterna: la scuola abbraccia la sala da concerto. La nostra architettura si comporta proprio come la cassa di risonanza di uno strumento esaltando la creatività all'interno della Casa della Musica.” Una sala da concerto da 1.300 posti a sedere costituisce il nucleo del complesso ed è circondata da un blocco a forma di U contenente le sale prove e didattiche.
