Introduction Welcome to the “Arpa Llanera” world. This work is the beginning of a series that tries to show and urge harpists from other parts of the world to know and become familiar with the style of play of Colombia and Venezuela. Unlike other style interpretations, in these countries it is not common to listen to the harp as a solo instrument. “El Arpa Llanera” (the harp from the plains), comprised of the traditional set of music from the Colombo-Venezuelan area called: Los Llanos (the plains), accompanied by other musical instruments: “El Cuatro” (small “guitar” with four strings) as harmonic support, The“maracas” as additional support for low percussion and the Guitar Bass (incorporated recently).
