ALOFT Birds, insects, and even some mammals are able to fly and soar. Plant seeds and kites are carried on the breeze, and the perfect pass can float through the air. Humankind has dreamt of ways to fly from Icarus’ attempt to create his own wings to the advent of airplanes, satellites, and space exploration. This exhibition provides new perspectives through which to see our world.

BEYOND THE MIRROR What do we see when we look in the mirror? Do our images reflect our individual identities, or do we see what we are conditioned to see by society? We need to look beyond the mirror to see our strength of character, intelligence, creativity, skills, and our potential to be even more than what can be reflected. Artists were invited to lift the veil and look beyond the image seen in the mirror. Each creating a new narrative of self-worth that highlights individual attributes over visual image, learning to appreciate who we are and the qualities that make us unique.

MUSICA! Pablo Picasso said, “To draw, you must close your eyes and sing.” This exhibition explores all the wonderful ways in which music can serve as inspiration for the creative process. Both music and art elicit emotions, create different moods, suggest movement, and can reflect light, depth, and color. Over time many artistic practices and processes have been shaped by sound and visual expression. The boundaries between music and art blur, as one becomes inspiration for the other.
