As Counsel at Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization, she leverages her expertise in litigation, advocacy, and partnerships to represent individuals who the spread of disinformation has harmed. In her current role as Counsel at Protect Democracy, Sara plays a vital part in protecting and preserving democratic values. Her primary focus revolves around litigation for individuals targeted by anti-democratic disinformation. She combines her legal expertise with a profound commitment to accountability and justice, working tirelessly to expose and counter efforts that undermine the democratic process. Her work involves forming partnerships with like-minded organizations, engaging in strategic advocacy, and undertaking local, state, and federal litigation. Before joining Protect Democracy, Sara garnered invaluable experience through various positions that enabled her to refine her legal skills and develop a strong foundation in civil rights and constitutional law. Sara served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Capital Habeas Unit of the District of Arizona. In this capacity, she provided legal representation for individuals facing the death penalty. Her work encompassed conducting thorough investigations, engaging in legal research and writing, preparing compelling arguments, and presenting cases before the court.
