Cosmetic colors meet the earth’s aesthetic: moon rock textures, lavish earthbound gems make for some rigid, bottom heavy silhouettes. Luxurious rugs compete with galactic motifs on pattern play and give an overall rocky feel.
Key Trends/Silhouettes: Bottom heavy-- the shorter the tops gets, the more the bottom grows in volume and length. Some asymmetry is added to keep the cosmetic feel mixed in. Asymmetry, patchwork, and paneling adds in a second hand to bring a (somewhat gaudy) theme back down to earth.
Construction Details: Pleating, and tailoring add shape and structure to industrial silhouettes—patchwork brings casual feel.
Fabrics : Heavy jacquards and unconventional hybrid synthetic fibers give a contemporary spin on eclecticism where pattern clashes and textures melt into one another giving a layered look. Man-made metallic keep within the galactic feel with earthbound coloring.
