House on an island Palma de Mallorca
Eating, living, sleeping were the main subjects concerning the project in Mallorca. Giving a definition to these everyday activities without giving a specific function to the space taking into concern the attitude of individuals during a vacation. Rules of living are not so rigid, setting a new mindset of what we understand by everyday activities in this unusual approach. The dimensions of the project were 35 meter square and the concept I worked for, was of an open plan which was flexible to the different uses of the volume. The water as an important element is used in two different ways as a pool and as a water deposit, while the floating in the air effect is inspired by the shape of the trees sorrounding the site.

The new district
The suburban area of Balerna was the location for the design of a new district of family houses. The master plan aims at the densification of the area, guaranteeing the existence of the public space. The project is based on the reflections of full volumes and voids but also on the importance of the private and public, introducing a different approach. The ground floor is considered an open plan while the more private space located on the second floor has a simmetrical distribution of the area.

Individuality in ripetition
The main focus is the creation of a new residential area contradicting the sorroundings. The masterplan, having the same importance as the individual project tries to generate the district, starting from the residual spaces. The project takes into consideration the importance of the activities on the ground floor, giving life to the entire zone. The individual project relies on the important of outside space even in the new densificated areas of the cities.

Volumes and paths
Defining a void by removing material but also creating levels of communication and access, using the stairs as the main element. Consisted in incorporating the two different requirements into a single one. The element of the stairs creates the voids by providing a source of light to the path.

Mise en scene nr. 8
Almost falling
During the second semester the idea of physical and structural equilibrium was developed. A tower of 3 meter high in cellular carton leaned on a self stabilising wooden base. The purpose was to create through the project an object, able to be compact and inhabited, beside its instability. We created 70 archetypical solutions of unstable constructions which were animated in turns by the students during a Mise en Scene. Through the spectacle, the students moved on the towers giving life to a moving town, orientated with the four cardinal points.

20’ exact in an automatic sequence [(S/R)(Δta + Δtr)]+ Δtp= TT
The project consisted in the construction of these wooden machines according to a time/man - man/machine relation. The machine constructed according to a mathematic algorithm, gave life to a continued mechanical movement of 20 exact minutes , made it visible and audible from the sound of 150 motorised pieces connected to the rhythmic projects. The precision requested in the manual construction of the pieces and the physical execution made possible the time precision of the whole moving machine.

Turrel’s Skyspace
The exercise consists in a tridimensional modelling of the space, giving it a precise atmosphere based on the concepts of James Turell.
