meshes together in all elements of the design. The store, spaces, displays and ideas represent a coming together so that the store functions as an interlaced structure. Use movement, visual entisement, and branding to develop a cohesive space which fully embodies the concept of intertwining and harmonizing, yet remains energetic and intriguing. To create an enviornment that

Inspiration

“In the entrance, we started with an explosion of light, color and movement, through the LED screens. This entrance works as a shop window, shop sign and access. The communication between the interior and the exterior, which normally happens through the shop window, in this case consists of a virtual

shop window.

Custom shelving that has a unique form which acts as a display wall, yet also houses the product being sold.

A woven pattern on the wall serves both form and function.

Design Development

Sketches of different ways to incorpate mesh in the design. Different scales, shapes, materials and other ways to use many different types of mesh in the design. Some ideas are more obvious thatn others. Sketched to develop more non-conventional ways to use mesh in the store. Want to use it in ways that are unexpected and add to the element of surprise. Using mesh wire to create artwork out of the product. Hang scarves and ties from metal mesh scupltural pieces.

There are many different scales and types of mesh. I sketched dfferent textures, thicknessnes, sizes and shapes. different types of mesh can have many different applications in the space. Some may be used in large scale forms, while others are much smaller and can be used as a fine netting. The variation in types of mesh allow the concept to be applied throughout the space without it being so obvious

Meandering circulation encourages the consumer to wander, picking up things that they may not have intended on. This help encourage impulsive buying. In addition, curves help direct the customer through the space.

Large metal mesh fencing acts as a tie display. A grid shelving unit stores more ties below that are accessible to the customer.

LED SCREEN

A LED screen appears behind the cash wrap. It features a graphic mesh pattern, with the company’s name in metal raised above it. Shelving with hats is located on the back wall behind the register.

The large-scale mesh-shaped wall feature similar to the handbag wall on the lower level is repeated upstairs in the Men’s Department.
