These magazine adverts are all dominated by images of the artists – as Andrew Goodwin said, this is often done in order to develop the artist's brand. The images which are used in these adverts are from the covers of the CDs which they are advertising to continue their visual style. The most prominent text on the adverts are the names of the artists and their new albums, but they also feature some additional details such as release dates and record label logos, plus website addresses to encourage further audience interaction as they can find out more information online and even order the album. All of these features could be applicable to my magazine advert design. On my advert, I will use the image from the front cover of my CD case design, which similarly features a close-up of the artist. The text which I will include will be the band name (which is also the name of the selftitled debut album), the album release date and a website address, plus I will include a record label logo. Like the adverts for Jessie J's album 'Who You Are' and Florence and the Machine's album 'Lungs', I will use a bold black background. This colour would also be suitable for my advert because it features in the costume which the artist wears in the image, so will help to create a cohesive colour scheme. As in the advert for 'Lungs', I will use white text to contrast against this black background and I will use a sans serif font, like in the advert for Lana Del Rey's album 'Born To Die', to create modern connotations that will suit the genre.
