Celebrate your birthday, be treated like a queen and capture yourself at every stage of your life.

-Your Guide to Being Photogenic But what to wear?

In the last edition I spoke about how to remove a double chin, but the first question I usually hear is but what should I wear?

There are so many choices out there it can be overwhelming to decide what looks best. So today I’m going to cover the basics to ensure you choose wisely if you know your going to be photographed.

1. Fitted is always more flattering than baggy or flowy outfits. Because there is no movement in a photo, wearing something baggy/flowy will look boxy when captured. If you cannot see someone’s silhouette, your brain will imagine that the person spans the width of the clothes.

2. Stick with whole or block colours. A busy pattern or print can draw attention away from your smile and towards the clothes themselves. This is especially so for really bright or really small designs.

3. Think textures, they’ll make it look luxurious. Lace, large knits, sequins and tulle are all really pretty fabric textures that photograph well and can make you look fabulous.

4. Make sure it’s clean and wrinkle free. You may think it’s not noticeable but even the smallest details show up in photographs. And once the pictures taken you can’t iron the creases out.

5. Go on get dresses up. There are so many photos of us in our casual everyday wear, so if you know you’ll be around someone with a camera, dress up and look the best that you can be!

- The Studio -

A white space of calmness, pampering, dress up and gorgeousness that's all about you. I have carefully curated my studio to be a space dedicated to you. When you first arrive for your shoot we'll go through the outfits we've chosen together and hang them ready for your changes. You'll take a seat at our hair and make up area, where you can relax and it's entirely up to you how you look. Meanwhile I'll start planning your session down to the last pose, so that when we start photographing it all runs smoothly. We do multiple different outfit changes and capture every combination of you and your daughter, sister, mother, partner or family; those you have chosen to be photographed with.

Once the photo shoot is complete we'll find a date for you to come back to view your images. And you get to bring who ever you like with you to look through them and help you decide what products to purchase. Maybe it's something for the wall or a little more personal like a silk covered folio box. We create a behind the scenes personalized video of your experience just for you and offer vintage framing and custom card options. All products are A La Carte so it's entirely up to you what you take home.
