A Weekend in New York City June 4th - June 6th 2010
Towards the end of 2009, Steve Hill, a NYC resident, an avid street photographer and sometime participant in a weekly online photography challenge site, suggested getting together with other photographers in NYC during early June 2010. ! I couldn't resist the idea of spending some more time in New York, a city I have enjoyed visiting on many occasions during the last 20 years. !!Quite a number of people thought I was insane to fly to New York for a weekend of photography, but not me! ! What could be better than combining a vacation with a photography workshop and, at the same time, meeting a huge group of other like minded people?
In addition, it gave me the perfect subject for my 2010 SOFOBOMO. The experience was fantastic and I hope I get the opportunity to repeat it.

Old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were forged and I truly believe one and all had a fabulous weekend. The images in this book, are merely a fraction of those made during the weekend, but perhaps give a glimpse into life in New York City, during a hot weekend in June. So, thanks to Steve for the suggestion , for organising and for leading our group around the city for the whole weekend. And also introducing us to some

The images in the next section are all images from my film camera. Having been a late comer to photography I have more or less learned using digital.! So, with I decided to venture into the world of film. At the end of 2009, I started playing around with the Holga, a fun camera made more so due to the unpredictable nature of the output. ! Then earlier this year, I bought an old Nikon FE2 which has proven to be an absolute delight.! I am completely enamoured with the world of film and fully intend to continue shooting this format as long as they continue to manufacture it!
