MOTIVATION LETTER Hello CIMSA, Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Raden Ayu Sarah Nathania Raissa and I am 19 years old. Currently, I’m a second-year medical student at Pelita Harapan University. Through this letter, I would like to inform you of my journey in falling head over heels for CIMSA and why I decided to put forward my candidature as one of CIMSA National Officials 2020/2021. When I first started medical school, the thought of joining an organization never crossed my mind. Then, someone wearing “Jacim” approached me to promote CIMSA, subsequently offering me to join. I filled out the form, unaware of what is to come or what to anticipate. I joined a series of events and immediately took an interest in SCOPE. I thought to myself that this is it, this is what I want to be doing. When I became a member of SCOPE, I encountered numerous distinctive individuals, those who aspire and endeavor to bring about change. Through this, I was able to learn a valuable lesson, alone we can do so little but together we can do so much. The erstwhile slight bud of interest has grown into fondness and at that point in time, I have already been infatuated with CIMSA, desiring to make more contributions. Soon after, I gathered my courage and applied for the Local Exchange Officer for Incoming. Needless to say, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. CIMSA has given me the chance to break out of my comfort zone and seize my full potential. Before I knew it, I have grown into a better version of myself. Back in high school, I was not the type to participate in activities and mingle in new surroundings, I have always preferred for stability. The members and officials of CIMSA were however all so amiable and embracing, that I started to turn over a new leaf and come to love socializing with others. I was able to host many individuals from different parts of the globe and expand my connections. CIMSA and SCOPE have given me so much and I want to be a part of it once more. I love every part of my 2 years in CIMSA, although there were undeniably some setbacks and hurdles here and there, those were the moments that allow me to learn the most. I want to be able to expand SCOPE CIMSA as I believe there is still so much room to grow. I believe that every medical student should be given equal chances to engage in exchanges, where not only they will develop more awareness of cultural diversity but also current and upcoming health systems around the world. I believe that with this mission borne in mind, we would be able to achieve global health. Empowering medical students, improving the nation’s health. Tangerang ,28 April 2020
