Philosophy To me, landscape is the ultimate art form. It is filled with curiosity, stories, and wonder. As a designer, I seek to explore these places through understanding of engagement and delight. With a deep passion for community and connectivity, I hope to activate spaces and ignite positive changes for the future.
Form & shadow studies in chipboard, Fall 2014.
Process As an artist first, I have always found joy in creating with my hands before the digital realm. Finding pleasure in the process, exploring shadows, light forms, and the overall effect of a space has shaped me into a critical thinker and serious observer of the world around me. I also find joy in the idea of play for all ages as an integral part of the human experience.
Ink sketches during my field school at Acadia National Park, Summer 2015.

Campus Design, SUNY ESF Quad, Syracuse, New york We were challenged to redesign the quad using green infrastructure and native plants. I sought to ignite a deeper sense of community and camaraderie, harnessing the playful spirit of the young scientist and designer. This plan was derived from studies by the firm Andropogon Associates. photoshop/sketchup renderings of proposed plan

Village Streetscape, Clayton, New York lies at the cusp of the Saint Lawrence River and the incredible 1000 islands. This project revolved around community engagement, storm water management, and the creation of social spaces. Through storm water calcuations, it was proven that green infrastructure such as rain gardens, bio-swales, and permeable pavement would reduce gray water by at least 60%. This was presented to the 1000 islands Land Trust, the mayor of Clayton, at a facilitated community engagement event focused on education.

Waterfront Inner Harbor, With the revival of Onondaga Lake, it’s antipicated that The Inner Harbor will become a hot bed of new development in the near future. Ideas includemixed-use residences, restaurants, and a new hotel. Celebrating the connection to the water and the exsiting Creekwalk, my studio was challeneged to design the Harbor experience, along with a wayfinding map. This was a one-week charette project, with learning outcomes such as: programming,

Residential Native Garden, My “client” was a bird-loving family who wanted to incorporate New York native plants to their property. Using a variety of species, that attracts both pollinators and wildlife, this palette will excite their family and help the local ecology.
Cazenovia, New York
textures / colors / wildlife
I thoughtfully considered the form, texture, and color of the plants both nearby and regionally. Because they currently have open sight lines, I used trees and shrubs as screening for the backyard.

Other artwork The photos below shows my variety of skill in different media and my love of exploration. I am not afraid to dive into the unknown, and instead, I embrace it. Through working in both 2D and 3D, find that art and design are truly meant to unite. My goal is to continue to embrace my inner creative spirit, but outward onto the landscape! I will spread positivity through design.
